I liked the movie more, but A's was pretty good. I loved all the human v human fights, but the ones against the animals and stuff were pretty meh. I didn't really like the one against the Book of Darkness thing either. The story wrapped up nicely, and I guess now everyone knows that Nanoha is a mage. It was pretty surreal to see everyone get older in the end too. Nanoha's future hairstyle is pretty meh
Her hair at the end is meh, but fortunately her hair transforms into the her "normal" twin-tails when she goes Mage.

They keep bringing the idea that Reuental may betray Reinhard. Seriously, if he actually does it, then they wasted the surprise a billion times. I hope he just doesn't.
I wonder how Julian expect to force the Empire to write a constitution... Doesn't sound like the kind of thing Reinhard would like to do. The only person he would trust for good administration is Silverberche, and he's dead. Seeing how overworked Reinhard is, this death is worse than Fahrenheit and Steinmetz combined. He has plenty of awesome generals already.
I have no idea what's gonna happen from now. I hope we get a nice surprise.
Right now I think its mostly in a build up phase. IIRC when stuff starts happening, it happens with a few people being complete badasses. Look forward to it.
Also, I laugh at all of you who complain about all the weak male leads in your anime. :p
The following is a translated comment by Urobuchi Gen in the 03 release of Newtype, regarding episode 6 and the story beyond. + Show Spoiler [Madoka 6 pre-release] +
"Hey everyone, you've enjoyed it until episode 5? Well, the roller coaster now at its peak, time for guidance has ended! What's left is to leave the body to go along with the story. Since I'm writing it so that you want to watch the next episode, if you don't quit it by episode 3, and able to watch it until episode 6, I believe you'll be able to enjoy it until the end"

Like other people have said this would make for a really interesting take on a harem considering the seriousness of the actual plot. The twist at the end with the sister actually having been with you the entire time really caught me off guard. I thought it was an awesome way to kind of validate all his ramblings and talking out loud to himself about his sister. It would make an excellent anime adaptation because the H-scenes are not even needed for the actual story. I mean, if they make it so Ken ends up with one of the chicks maybe hint towards something happening, but other than that no need at all.
Oh, shit and where they're in that cell and Ken fakes out Houzuki by pretending he was seriously addicted to that drug and before that Houzuki faking his limp. Man, so many cool plot twists.
Ok, okokok, fuck you, Kent. I totally thought Kaze (yeah, I'm gonna shorten it) was going to confess and it was going to be gravy, but NOW it's going to be him TRYING to, but she's going to blow him off because of what that shit Kent said. Man... every week this show wrecks me and makes me angry. Once again. Fuck you, Kent.
I don't know, im sorta happy that Kent made a move, because Sawako and Kazehaya are like living in some other world, like time is forever. But now, Kent made Sawako realize/ and indirectly made Kazehaya realize that if they wait too long then the other will be gone (emotionally and/or physically). So now Kazehaya has to prove to himself/her that he likes her (cause its like hes not sure of himself). And in turn the end result would be more satisfying cause there is a bigger hurdle. Also Kent isn't like some really manipulative, sneaky bastard, (well i guess he is) but hes not bad. So i wouldn't mind Sawako going with Kent, Kazehaya deserves it if he doesn't try hard enough.
Totally reminds me of like other animes where theres a childhood friend whose a girl likes the main character whose a guy, but never confesses but until high school he meets new girls and then its a harem, and its lame. Uhh like that "Asobi ni iku yo!".

I'm not truly upset because at least with this happening the plot of Kaze/Sawako will change gears and get moving. On the other hand it could drag out into a very confusing situation for Sawako. She already can't handle her own feelings for Kazehaya so how will she handle Kent who openly is telling her that he likes her? After the episode ended I was 2seconds away from just finding the manga and reading ahead because I want to know what happens next so bad.

My problem with the VN sort of harkens back to my issue with G-Sen, but not quite as bad, in which the first several chapters don't really seem to... matter. Like, to an extent, I can understand that the passage of time was necessary, but beyond their chapters they just ended up sort of being there. Not a whole lot was fleshed out about the rest of the village either (remained mostly a village to the end), and given the divine status of Houzuki there's a real sense of "what was he trying to accomplish here?" throughout this whole thing. To that end, while I really liked the plot-twist of Ririko, the plot-twist about the limp really kinda zoomed over me, and his addiction thing was more-or-less hinted at through the whole thing, such that it didn't really surprise me so much as "oh that's how they use it."
I mean, I liked it, but it just felt sort of... weak. The build-up was weak, and the end wasn't quite as strong as I felt it could have been (especially because they'd diluted character strength by dispersing the relationships), so by the end I felt more like "mmhmm interesting" than "AWESOME" or anything like that. Oh well.

True, Ayane (is that her name? lmao) would probably push from Sawako/Kazehaya. But the problem is that Kazehaya doesn't like people interfering, and Sawako is like too... (i dont know the word but you get what im saying). Idk i guess we'll have to wait and see. I'm sad that its like another 5-6 days away. Maybe madoka will keep my mind off it for a bit.
Also do we have to put this stuff in spoilers cause its only us who watch it right? I love you too :D

The spoilers are out of respect for the dumb people that haven't watched this show, obv~ My girlfriend is up to EP16 of the first season. I'm telling her to hurry up because I want to be able to watch the new EPs with her and whine about Sawahaya. That is the name I have given them. She knows there is a second season so maybe it's assumed for her that they don't get together. Unless maybe she thinks they get together at the end and the 2nd season is their budding relationship. If only... T_T

Yeah, Houzuki's character was a very good villain, but they never really explained why he was doing what he was doing. I guess I didn't really care all that much though. I don't think the use of his drug was to the point where it was noticeable that it wasn't as addictive as he led on. I felt the build up to the ending was strong, but some what out of the blue. It was tied together nicely, but it all falls back to what the fuck was Houzuki's objective? They spoke about his potential... what was it? President-esque title so I guess that's what we were to assume was happening. I think the characters stood well enough on their own, but there was a lot of fat that could of been cut. That said I didn't mind the needless text and dialogue that didn't really progress anything.

I don't mind worthless text/dialog but when the VN revolves around character progression I'd hope for the characters that were developed to do more than cry for help for however long they were in there. I mean, gosh, they didn't do anything, and they split up from him at the end anyways.
As for Houzuki, he's fleshed out in the fandisc; that one's a prequel to the story, wherein Houzuki's the one undergoing the test. You see what "broke" him as a person, and the diversion between the two when it comes to the paths they took. At the same time, I didn't like it much, because I felt like a lot of the things were forced. So take that as you will.

I know that this is REALLY old, but I've been thinking about this since the end of 82. Yang mentioned the possibility of Julian just fighting the Empire only because of Yang. Now that there is no Yang, maybe Spazer has proven himself as a clairvoyant?
I first dismissed thinking the Empire killed Yang. But it was the cultists. Maybe Julian will join the Empire and fight the cultists with them.

Nah, Julian joining the empire is still very unlikely. The ideals he holds are very much Yang's ideals (if only because he idolizes Yang, but still). Allying with the imperial forces against the cultists is a possibility, but what do you fight against? The cult is essentially a bunch of disconnected cells at the moment - it's not exactly something that you need to fight with a united front.
Is anyone else reading Iris Zero? It started off kinda slow, but it's been getting a lot better in recent chapters. The basic premise is that people have started developing passive supernatural skills called "irises". They do a variety of things such as finding the best person for a job to determining one's current emotion to detecting lies. The main character doesn't have an iris. so he basically relies on his batman level planning and analytical skills to solve problems.

I haven't started season 4 yet, but I don't know what Yang's former subordinates could do. They lost their leader, and a lot of people will probably leave (I think Merkatz included; iirc he was saying that he was only there for Yang or something), and without Yang, their already tiny force will stand nothing against the Empire's >100k ships. Yeah, they have Iserlohn, but still.
Maybe they'll do what Yang thought of and use it as a bargaining chip for a surrender.
I had to read through a lot of old LoGH posts to find that, and it was kinda funny sometimes. Sentenal is like "What do you guys think of Bittenfield and Kesler?" and we're like "Who are they?"

I feel ashamed. One of the first freakin' episodes was all about Kesler. And of course Bittenfield had that moment in season one...
Edit: Scans for Merry 16 and 17 are out. I haven't even watched ep 5 of the show. I might just drop it because the manga is infinitely better. : /
And I will start reading Iris Zero. Sounds pretty neat.
I remember their introductions early on, but like you guys, I didn't think much of them at the time. I just thought it would be interesting, getting your thoughts on those 2 then, and then watching how your views on them change over time lol. Bittenfeld is quiet the character, eh? Just wait till a certain scene in season 4....
I think that fortifies MY point as much as it fortifies Southlight's... No matter how good the story is, I'd always be distracted by how alien the characters look.
Enough about that, though. Can anyone recommend some good anime from the 80's to the late 90's? Preferably Movies or OVAs. Recently picked up Escaflowne, and I'm really enjoying how unadulterated its fantasy feel is.

Cowboy Bebop, though i've never watched <year 2000 animes
