Don't let the fact that it has kids as the main characters fool you. Huh, I looked this up on MAL and a certain TL user has one of the top reviews on the main page from 5 years ago this one is the best https://myanimelist.net/anime/34240/Shelter?q=shelterThis was the day he killed anime The brutality is making me want to watch it.

The show or before you ragequit it? :^)

Its just a music video IIRC, I wouldn't call it a show

Its a music video with a mini anime story. It was a thing a while back. Silly arguments over "if its anime or not" erupted inthe places you would expect such dumb arguments to happen.

Only that those kids kind of act more like adults than adults do in anime in most cases... The drama is really well handled.

Kimi ga Nozomu Eien is just everything I hate about "adult romance". Paper thin drama and exasperating characters basically. Drama isn't a bad thing, but when it's exaggerated emotions racing at 200mph I tend to start rolling my eyes. It's why I gravitate more towards stuff like Yonensei. I see, makes sense. For what its worth, I took a look at Kimi and I just can't stand the animation and how in your face it feels. I think this was the exact same issue I had when I tried to watch it years ago so guess it's off the list now.

Having said that, though there are some kids who are mature for their age, it still strikes me a bit odd that the author didn't make them a bit older.

I think the author likes children and cute characters. Iirc it was in an interview I read. I think the age is actually important in this story. It wouldn't have worked the same way when they would have been older. I'm not saying that you couldn't have told a story with that topic with older characters but definitely not in the same way.
If you do watch it, make sure you watch the specials instead of ep10. The specials are basically episode 10 split into 2 episodes with a bunch of stuff added that makes it a lot more coherent.

IMO the only "worthwhile" part of Kimi ga Nozomu Eien is that a handful of characters from it have Alternate Reality versions of themselves appear in Muv-Luv Alternative, and MLA is the GOAT

to belabor the point, 10 mins is double of 5 mins. Anything double is significant, relatively speaking :p

To be fair, it probably took them way more than double ten minutes to make that music video. :|

That's what I would do, yes. I watched 1-10 then the specials and then 11 and noted down that I should have just watched the specials instead of ep10. As said, the specials have everything ep10 has but add a few scenes every now and then that make the whole thing more coherent. I'm half-way through the manga and I think they tried to cut some corners with ep10, which wasn't a good idea. The manga can feel a bit incoherent at times and the anime actually did a great job at fixing that problem. Ep10 was the exception.

god I'm turning into Numy. All this season is so shit that I basicly binge watched all of Souma s1-s3 the last couple of days (currently s3 ep 6).
I don't even feel like watching any of Wotakai, 3D Kanoji, Highschool DxD etc because Souma is just so much better... I do feel sad that Taneda Risa is gone now with season3 as she really carried that role super hard but I have to agree with Ice that Kanemoto Hisako is as good a replacement as you could have gotten. I wouldn't have expected her to be that good but it's still not Taneda Risa Guess I have to fully commit to the Alice train now

How's that turning into Numy? Turning into Numy would be watching something brutal and then only ever watch moe after because you are mentally destroyed. That's not going to happen for you since you are already watching moe only.
|
I'm not even watching moe... am I ?
