I just started two very different anime, Usagi Drop and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, and while I did enjoy Usagi Drop, I got incredibly hooked on GitS, which I haven't had from an anime since I watched Monster

oh yeah SAC first season is really really good, second gig is also good but I didn't like it as much as the first season.

That's because GitS: SAC is amazing, one of my favourite animes. Watched it not too long ago.

I agree.
//Oh my, I'm half way through NHK and it's freaking great right now.
Makura no Danshi, the new television anime from Earth Star Entertainment will premiere this July. This "new and novel animation entirely in the first-person perspective" is designed to "heal tired hearts."
Natsuki Hanae will play one of 12 "makura no danshi" (pillow boys), all full of distinctly individual personalities and each catering to viewers who like a certain "type." The boys all live in the same town underneath a starry sky. Each of the "makura no danshi" will star his own weekly episode as they "sleep beside you and whisper."

An army of 27 vs the Claymores is ridiculous. They are going to get destroyed so badly T.T In before the anime ending involves Clare becoming an awakened being when they are down, crushing them all and then reverting back herself or just dying or Priscilla somehow dying for Raki etc... Either way, 20 episodes in and not letting me down so far! :D
After episode 22 is when you need to switch to the manga to avoid the anime only ending and starting at ch 59. Anime has an open ending that makes it hard for another season even if there were enough interest, but other than that the anime was very faithful to the manga. You just miss out on some foreshadowing and small moments.
thanks for mentioning the chapter. I'm near the end now, been having a blast watching it so far. Will likely check out the manga at that chapter to see how it differs. That's too bad to hear, I think the fights are very entertaining and would've loved for them to explore more Claymore-human interactions and maybe an acceptance for them in society or something after all the events that have happened.
The manga goes on for a long time after the anime ends so yea quite diff. I really enjoyed the manga. The author was losing his touch and running out of ideas near the end but tis a good series. I'm just sad the anime ended the way it did (no idea why they went with the direction they did, maybe they got into a fight with the author? lol). They could have easily used the stopping point they reached and just ended it with no S2 like a lot of anime series do.
Finished watching it. The characters were great and the fights were well done. I also loved the music. Felt like it made the anime that much better. Maybe I'm getting the wrong vibe but seems like a lot of people don't like the ending and think it's bad? Sure, it's open-ended and personally, I dislike it when anime do that but its not exactly bad imo. I feel that this open ending actually works in this situation and that the anime delivered. I'm satisfied with how it ended and don't think it would've been better to end it another way.
Even with the current ending, you can easily start a season 2 and tie things up in the first episode (the transition part I mean). Only thing is that + Show Spoiler +
I thought we might've seen that army of awakened beings attack the city again but seeing as the fight was enough for the leader, guess it makes sense that he decided to wait.
More background about the organization and more exploration of other claymores and their histories are pretty much the only thing I would've liked to see.
You have to read the manga to understand why it would be hard to continue a 2nd season. If you only watch the anime an open ending seems fine while the manga ends the arc on a cliff hanger. If the anime had stayed true to the manga it would be both a bad ending and seem to imply another season. + Show Spoiler +
Clare doesn't meet Raki or Priscilla. They also don't "win" the battle. It's a everybody dies ending.
I'd like the FMA Brotherhood treatment, but I doubt it would be popular enough to get that. Isn't that very rare? Hunter X Hunter got a similar treatment, but any else?

I was thinking along those lines with how things were advancing but didn't realize that's how the manga ended. I mean, there were more awakened beings than claymores and they barely won the first round. Well, one thing is for sure though. I would've hated that ending despite realizing the predicament that they were in. I like that we ended with an opening ending and there is a possibility of a second season (doubt it'll happen).

To be fair, not EVERYONE dies, the manga does continue for another 100 chapters so you can't be killing off the mc and main supporting characters. The manga does after that have a 7 year time skip and begins to explore the nature of the organization more after that. You also get to see Raki grown up where he isn't the annoying crybaby that he is when he is a kid.

I didn't like the fact that Onizuka ditched the school in the end.

The point is you're supposed to think everyone died even Clare which is why I didn't explicitly say what happens in case Bigfan wanted to read. Yagi even pretended to replace Clare with Clarice a new number 47. If the anime ended like that it would be terrible which is why the anime went with an original ending instead of everyone appearing to have died.

Raki gets to fighting basic Yoma level. Which ofcourse means hes stronger than normal humans maybe the strongest. But he ends up playing a glorified babysitter. All the weak characters are involved for their emotional qualities and relationship strengths. Clarice the other major one.
It got rather haphazard withshowing the bigger picture of the world and the circumstances behind their creation but then realizing he was opening a can of worms that would be a bitch to deal with.
So he ignored the development of the larger world and just isolated the story of Claymores v org and then the final showdown with some OP Abysalls sprinkled into the max. I think the waning popularity had a fair but to do with it.

I was hoping to see Raki grow up so the time skip part and the organization information would be good to see.
He still remains pretty useless in the grand scheme of things. Im not sure how I felt about it tbh. Following it for so long, what was it like 10-11 years for me I think?
I think he said he was running out of ideas/motivation for the series in an interview.
I caught up with the Government Propaganda Anime According to Elem I Can't Understand What my Husband is Saying s2 .. good stuff
Also Tonari no Kashiwagi-san finally has a new chapter the romance between the mainlead and female lead is kinda slow but still better than nisekoi cause someone actually confessed lel
u know how in anime, the people in the background are normally just always still shots, is this because of animation budget, like making them move across is too much) or does it have more to do with the style of anime, like would everything be too cluttered and unfocused (basically is it a choice or a limitation)
also the panda toy in yahari how the hell is that thing cute wtf O_o, also the ambulances dont make you pay...HAHAHAHAHA oh Japan... ;_;

Def animation budget. Saves money, saves time, etc. Animations costs a lot yo.
I've heard CGI was a lot less expensive, and is it just me or does etotama have like the best CGI of all time with those battles. Everything is so fluid and nothing felt clunky. (I imagine some mech series has even better cgi but I remember when I watched the first 30 seconds of Kingdom the animation on the faces was weird so I just turned it off).
