Anyways, I enjoy the development of a little story added to th episodic character. However, I feel like Kekkai Sensen runs into the same dead end as Death Parade: The development of the story starts too late and it feels a little rushed towards the end because there are only so many episodes left.
I have to say, I loved the random fake special attacks in this episode. :D Black and White are anime only characters. The original manga is very much episodic. And considering how Trigun went, I think I prefer it that way.

Will likely check out the manga at that chapter to see how it differs. That's too bad to hear, I think the fights are very entertaining and would've loved for them to explore more Claymore-human interactions and maybe an acceptance for them in society or something after all the events that have happened.

The manga goes on for a long time after the anime ends so yea quite diff. I really enjoyed the manga. The author was losing his touch and running out of ideas near the end but tis a good series. I'm just sad the anime ended the way it did (no idea why they went with the direction they did, maybe they got into a fight with the author? lol). They could have easily used the stopping point they reached and just ended it with no S2 like a lot of anime series do.

I think it's the same reason a lot of anime adaptions have original endings is because a second season was never planned. The manga ended just last year while the anime ended in 2007. They weren't going to wait that long or make three seasons. The anime was just advertisement and to make money for the manga.

The alternate to that is to just end at a natural pause in the series then just don't make anymore lol at least gives them the option in the future if the series does well enough.

If they wanted to make more Claymore, they could always go the FMA: Brotherhood way. FMA 2003 went batshit and ended in shit after it passed the manga, but then Brotherhood came, and everything was good.

They could have easily used the stopping point they reached and just ended it with no S2 like a lot of anime series do. Finished watching it. The characters were great and the fights were well done. I also loved the music. Felt like it made the anime that much better. Maybe I'm getting the wrong vibe but seems like a lot of people don't like the ending and think it's bad? Sure, it's open-ended and personally, I dislike it when anime do that but its not exactly bad imo. I feel that this open ending actually works in this situation and that the anime delivered. I'm satisfied with how it ended and don't think it would've been better to end it another way.
Even with the current ending, you can easily start a season 2 and tie things up in the first episode (the transition part I mean). Only thing is that + Show Spoiler +I thought we might've seen that army of awakened beings attack the city again but seeing as the fight was enough for the leader, guess it makes sense that he decided to wait. More background about the organization and more exploration of other claymores and their histories are pretty much the only thing I would've liked to see.

Well, I went in with the expectation that it'll be terrible and was pleasantly surprised to see that it wasn't the case. It's not that a more direct ending is bad but it's not something that bothered me with this anime for some reason.

I still don't get you Goody. They have like zero chemistry together or any implication of feelings on her part. Is it just because he has a penis and she has a vagina that you want them to be a couple? I know that's prob what is going to happen but I just don't get why anyone would want that to happen, it'll be so fking dumb and forced. The most generic of generic childhood friend romances. All it would do is drag down an otherwise really fun show.

Anime only adapts vol 1 which is yuri bait. You won't see any romance at all. So we can always dream(that kumiko and reina are a thing) because that's what kyoani wanted us to do anyways.
|
Yea I'd rather there just be no romance in it at all honestly.
+ Show Spoiler [DxD LN Rant] +Ok so I'm towards the end of 17 and at this stage I think the only reason I keep reading is because I'm scared of what sad things are going to happen with Holo. Rias/Akeno have been relegated to non-existence for the past 5 or so vols, maybe even longer. The promised date with Rias just gets completely ignored. The church trio are the only consistently appearing girls and they are fucking awful. Xenovia on her own is cool but when interacting with those 2 she gets dragged into the filth that is Asia. Every time they appear I don't even need to read what is going to happen as it's the exact same dialogue that ALWAYS occurs between the three. The panty dragon while funny, is fucking dumb and does nothing to make Asia less trash tier character. The only saving grace for the past few vols is the large amount of Ravel. Ross has barely been a character since her introduction, she finally at least as some development after 10 vols.
Overall I feel the author just dug himself a massive hole by adding in too many characters and as time goes on it only gets worse and worse. There is absolutely no reason why Ross took 10 vols before she becomes a relevant character. Having the huge moment between Rias and Ise earlier then completely ignoring Rias aside from a few lines when she's acting as the "King" feels terrible. People were telling me nothing happens between them because they so busy. That's horseshit. There's been lots of implied times when they all at the house but Rias/Akeno are just no longer characters in the story. Instead we get moments with Ravel(good) and church trio(fucking awful). If he at least separated Xenovia from the 2 shitters it could be bearable.
I'm done with this shit.

The thing about re-kan is that it's a Kirara series(well, published in that magazine series). It's only meant to be really fluffy, cute, and relaxing like Koufuku Graffiti which is also a Kirara series.
General intl anime fans don't like that sort of show most of the time from what I see

However they intentionally made it at the start that Kumiko and Shuichi pair are dull and they don't like each other. That Kumiko rejects him all the time and stuff but that doesn't mean they could not make things go in an interesting direction.
