Nope, it's Soma, sorry you are not as awesome as the MC. + Show Spoiler [Shokugeki no SOMA EP 4] + Hah, I just love it. This episode introduced quite some characters and I liked it. Laughed quite a bit. ![]() + Show Spoiler [DanMachi EP 4] + This episode was by far better than the first 3. Less Hestia definitely helps I guess.

I would have done it differently and it's missing out on some parts but there's really just no nice way to translate that phrase into english. + Show Spoiler [explanation] + So a little explanation about that line and why I compared it to hachikuji dying as well as saying I'm 100% sure she said it that way on purpose. TL;DR version: She said この部活好きなの。。。好きなの which you'd usually translate as something along the lines of "I love this club... I really do" to get the meaning across. In reality she's just repeating the "love" part (just the verb, it's not actually a verb in japanese but whatevs) while leaving out the "target" of the phrase to emphasize on "love" by repeating it once more. So that's why I said you'd usually translate it that way, because you'd assume she's still talking about the same thing out of context, right? Thing is, when repeating part of that expression she picks an expression that on itself is homophone to the expression "I love you", or what you'd say to say that. So to Hachiman she's probably saying something along the lines of: "I love this club... I really do" while to her it's more along the lines of "I love this club... and I love you" So yes, she's saying that on purpose. No Hachiman did not figure it out (I'd assume) because like I said, you'd usually understand that as emphasis on her part that she does love the club. I wouldn't call it a confession but more along the lines of acknowledging it and saying it out loud for herself. She's intentionally phrasing it so that you'd get a different idea from the context. //Man watching this again is amazing no matter how often you rewatch it. Hachiman's dumbfound expression when Yui goes "you know, I can half-ass this. Noone would expect me to do well anyways... So I'm going to beat Yukinon" is pure gold. Well no idea if that's canon according to the source, it could just be an interpretation from the studio doing the animation but that's certainly what they're trying to get across. That scene tore a hole in me and now I appreciate it more after reading this. ;; This is too good.

+ Show Spoiler [oregairu] + kind of amusing 8man spent the whole episode reading between the lines of everyone else, but not yui at the end. =( maybe he did but didn't say anything atm, too stunned that best girl confessed.

I was smiling like an idiot throughout that whole scene while watching it, it's almost silly. The fact that she (like 99% certain) did it on purpose makes it even more beautiful. If you want to really go 3deep5me and overinterpret things you can go all the way of: + Show Spoiler + When she said "it'd cost us the club" she's using the verb nakunaru (written 無くなる, not 亡くなる) which is a pretty normal word and conveys the general meaning of "cease to exist", literally "become nothing". But it sounds a lot sadder to me than "will cost us the club" as it's homophone to "to die" or "to pass away" when talking about people and they problably come from the same word (?). Just like how 直す and 治す both are pronounced naosu. One means "repair", one means "cure" which essentially is the same thing just that you use one for machinery and the other for living things: ![]() but like I said, it's a pretty normal word, so that's totally over the top ![]()

The second one is like what a 16 year old kid would bullshit if he has to write an essay and tries to be deep ![]() That reminds me back in high school my friends and I nicknamed AP English "AP Bullshit." A lot of literary analysis and interpretation you have to do in college and high school is bogus. Of course there is plenty of good literary analysis out there as well but sometimes you just have to talk crap to get a good grade. I legit enjoy your anime analysis though :D.

Oregairu is quite clever at times so I do think analysis isn't a bad thing.
