Almost everything that ciel scans is translating these days falls under your category with added bonus of a lot of them being 4koma

My primary complaint (besides Tarou's ungodly amounts of screentime) was how poor the show was at actually describing what goes on in the industry. For instance, one of the early plot points was that the director was being a douche. Production was being held up since he was indecisive and wasn't finishing storyboards. Wow, that actually sounds like a real life problem! Their solution? Lock him up in a cage. Thanks for your valuable insight.
There was also a bafflingly large amount of time spent on production. It was as if the other girls didn't even matter in the context of the plot.
At least Bakuman taught me some amusing things. Reverse-foreshadowing comes to mind.
Someone told me that an actual PA, Vale(some gaijin working in the anime industry), said that the dungeon thing is real. He even described shirobako as his life the animation. Oh, and he does gundam the origin so that's pretty cool.
And the other girls really don't matter. Miyamori and the guys at Musashino animation are more main characters than the 4 girls. The other 4 girls are meant to deceive viewers so that they buy merchandise.

Tonari as in Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun? That was a solid one. Ao Haru Ride is sol/romance but it has plenty of drama. Most of the romance stuff I am reading right now have fantasy elements and/or harem elements too like Jitsu wa Watashi Wa or Yamada-kun (only really good 1st 100 or so chapters).
I have stuff like Suki tte Ii na yo, Obaka-chan, Tonari no Kashiwagi-san on my to do list though.
started dl'ing gintama. I donno why considering i have a number of full series sitting on my HD waiting to start that i've been putting off because im watching a lot this season. Plus, next season i'll probably have a lot more to watch than this season. Still, I've been told I must watch

Gintama is fucking amazing and the author is jesus. There's definitely boring parts between episodes 1-150ish. But most 150+ are pretty solid. And everything 200+ is gold up til like 250-255ish. From then on it's just pretty decent/solid.

huh, you mean 130s because around 130s is the amazing yoshiwara in flames arc.
Was just saying that there's more 'meh' episodes per capita between 1-150.... but there's a shitload that I loved from then too. Every 50 episodes Gintama gets an upgrade. 200 is when it's 720p so it gets a visual upgrade as well.
Two new Aquarion things announced. I didn't think it was popular enough for a new series, but apparently its getting both a new series and a new OVA.
The new series is called Aquarion Logos:
I know nothing about the plot of the new TV Series, other than the new Aquarion in it is the worst Aquarion design yet.
The new OVA is... I can't figure out wtf its called:
It seems like some Genesis of Aquarion vs Aquarion EVOL thing. We have an actual dog fight on our hands, here (lol). And it looks like they gattai into a dog. Also, those are characters from both anime (the original and EVOL) together in there. Looks like they are making an actual crossover OVA. Haven't seen one of these in a while.

The director in the cowboy getup and kicking ass at the book company was great. And the whole shizuka part was perfect.
I like shirobako for a few reasons. First is the characters, the main girls all have their good points that i really like. The characters i thought i wouldn't like I ended up really liking as it went further on (the director mainly). Second is the concept. It's super interesting to learn some of what goes into making an anime. Third is the pacing. Everything seems to be going good then something terrible happens and everything feels so hectic insane with the feeling that they'll never successfully complete what they're trying to do, and then when everything falls into place and it works out, they do it in a way that doesn't seem like just some bullshit and actually make me feel intense joy for them having gotten everything done. And it's never one of those, you knew all along everything would work out. Even though it does work out (or has so far), there's still that nagging doubt that this time everything will come crashing down.
I've laughed a lot, I've cried a bit, I've been worried, and elated. This show hits me in so many different ways it's hard to explain it.
