Actually she did the count in 5 diff ways (the gif only showed 3). Japanese, German, Chinese, old style Japanese, Spanish

The best part about shirobako is that it shows what's going on in the industry and how decisions are made at a shallow level and is the only reason i'm watching it. Very fun.
the worst part about it is that it's so shallow and doesn't go indepth how the decisions are made
The only characters in it i really like is Imai Midori, miyamori, and goth loli sama. I don't really care about the cast that much. And zuka suffering is not cute.
Also, Kunogi Ai is cancer. Whoever thinks she is moe or cute must be retarded.

Seems like Decim learned a lot and will judge her next time. I'm curious if he is going to judge himself together with her. Seeing how Ginti jugded the other girl into the void, intertwined with the soul of the other guy, I could imagine that some changes to judging in general might come up in the future. I also read it is often used when they need a hard, cold, mature, cruel etc. language. That's why they are using it in animes like Hellsing, SnK and so on. Doesn't make sense for Shirobako though. Also, I'm really surprised everytime foreigners say how hard german sounds. For me, other languages sound much harder but that's probably because we are accustomed to the sound. It's also funny because I think german is a beautiful language in regards to its fluid possibilities of building descriptors and coherence into sentences. I think German is pretty hard grammatically, not only for foreign people. ![](/mirror/smilies/smile.gif) Though just by looking at languages, Finnish gives me a headache.
I was not speaking of grammar, I meant the sound of it spoken. Comparing the grammar, I'm personally glad to speak german. It's so much more exact than english for example (imho, as far as my knowledge goes, I hope nobody is offended). There are a lot of tools that don't exist in english and that's probably the reason why my english grammar is complete shit: I try to build sentences in a way that would make sense in german but it acutally doesn't make sense in english, lol. But enough of off-topic, that wasn't the question to begin with. :D

Shirobako is alright, but its nothing compared to Blue Blazes or Gundam Sousei.

My wife bought crunchyroll and I saw it on there and it made me think of it. I just like the character interactions and to see what goes on and what happens in the industry regardless of how shallow it is. Just a fun and relaxing watch altogether.

I made it 8 eps into Shirobako before I dropped it.
My primary complaint (besides Tarou's ungodly amounts of screentime) was how poor the show was at actually describing what goes on in the industry. For instance, one of the early plot points was that the director was being a douche. Production was being held up since he was indecisive and wasn't finishing storyboards. Wow, that actually sounds like a real life problem! Their solution? Lock him up in a cage. Thanks for your valuable insight.
There was also a bafflingly large amount of time spent on production. It was as if the other girls didn't even matter in the context of the plot.
At least Bakuman taught me some amusing things. Reverse-foreshadowing comes to mind.

Better than Bleach-foreshadowing, which is when your manga is finally getting forced to end, so you take all the loose threads you'd forgotten about and try to make them into a storyline.
(And nothing should ever be compared to Akumetsu-level foreshadowing, which is where every throwaway gag in the first 100 chapters is the most important detail ever)

Tonari as in Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun? That was a solid one. Ao Haru Ride is sol/romance but it has plenty of drama. Most of the romance stuff I am reading right now have fantasy elements and/or harem elements too like Jitsu wa Watashi Wa or Yamada-kun (only really good 1st 100 or so chapters).
I have stuff like Suki tte Ii na yo, Obaka-chan, Tonari no Kashiwagi-san on my to do list though.

Otonari-san Game: 4 koma. comedy. light romance. Mill: very light romance. slight comedy. SOL 3D Kanojo: shoujo but not typical shoujo romance tropes (no stupid drama, ntr or rebounding). scanlations behind by 20 chapters and updates slow as fuck. there are many others i can name but these are some for starters.
ciel scans typically does scanlations for the genres in that strike zone.

German apparently was a really big influene on japanse people. First scientific texts they ever got from outside of Japan all where in german. There's a crapton of words they just outright take over that get used in japanese. Maybe not as much english words as we use in german (or any european language for that matter) but it's a lot.
Going by what eca said about it a couple months ago. You can really find it in all kinds of different places. I made a post about Hanamonogatari when they used german when that aired.
