Finished both seasons of Ghost in The Shell Stand Alone Complex. Enjoyed the action and story even though I had trouble following the plot at times. Kind of funny and sad that + Show Spoiler +
the end of both season ended with the sacrifice of the tachikoma. It also felt weird that the Kuze plot ended so quietly with how many hints were given.
Started watching Gundam Seed and read Sent's description and it really is similar to the original series except with a more negative view on of the protagonist's side of the war. The battles in Seed are considerably down scaled in numbers as none of the mechs in the fight feel like cannon fodder so far though that's mainly because Kira's fighting other Gundams. It was kind of silly in the original series for the Guntank to be so effective in space combat and eventually the other kids who weren't new types were able to mow down enemies. Flay can be annoying annoying but at least I can understand the logic of her actions compared to many of the Wing characters, but I'm sure she will do something really crazy later on.
Man that SnK season ender is so mysterious. Even the translated info text near the end of the episode.. the only bad part is the next season will like in 1 year plus
I got back from Day 2 of AWA (Anime Weekend Atlanta) earlier. Had a good time. Unfortunately, due to some family things that came up, wasn't able to go Friday, so this was my 'day 1' this year. Got some shit in the Dealers room, got Asakawa Yuu's autograph/picture taken with her, went to a small Akino/bless4 concert, etc.
Bearguy Gunpla, Hakufu figure, Red Saber figure, little SD Saber Lily, little SD Miki, and a Shin Mazinger Z plamo
I generally don't take lots of pictures of cosplayers, but I did take a few (few meaning 2, since the ratio between SnK and good anime getting cosplayed was very high): + Show Spoiler +
Space Pirate Captain Harlock, two RX-79[G]s (although IDK what head one of those has, its not a RX-79, GM, or Ez8 head) and an RX-78-2 Girl
She voices FSN Rider, Misae Munakata from Muv-Luv, Tsugumi Komachi from Ever17, and apparently some Vocaloid girl and someone from Azumanga Daioh.
Also, my autographed poster thinger:
The Akino/bless4 concert was okay, a lot smaller than I expected though. They did Aquarion's OP, both Aquarion EVOL's OPs, an Aquarion EVOL ED, Mazinger Z (they called it the 'first anime' lol), DBZ's first OP, and some songs IDK what they were.
Couldn't stay for the 4chan thing with Moot, but honestly, not sure I would have even gone if I could have :/
Oh yeah, I watched some of the original Mazinger Z too, in a video room. Was the Discotek premiere, so the subs weren't the shitty things we have now. And watched some original Gatchaman too. 70s anime was hilariously goofy.

Thats because the first half of seed is pretty much a straight remake of 0079
Honestly, SEED represents the start of a problem the gundam fanbase has come to refer to as 'gundamification'
Where literally there's just gundams everywhere so many gundams

Wing had 9, 11 if you count Heavy Arms Kai and Sandrock Kai. 2 more if you count Vayeate and Mercurius. Even more if you start counting Endless Waltz redesigns.

Ah, lucky you caught Akino/bless4 on concert. I unknowingly attended a Con in which they were performing and missed it.
All I do is get in here on Sundays and say something along the lines of "damn, why Monogatari so good?" and it's true every week Ain't even mad there's nothing else to say about it.
