I can't watch Simpsons in english because I started watching that when I was a kid in german and I'm so used to the german voices. Pretty much everything else just feels better in english if it's an english production (except for movies with Bruce Willis, his german voice is bad ass). It's just the same with anime just that the originial language isn't english here. No big deal. I prefer swedish in TV when I'm visiting my relatives there as well. Thought it's like that for everyone and everything. | ||

I think a lot of the time its more a combination of "I saw it in Japanese 1st and for some reason I don't think the English voice fits the character" and "Oh. My. God. THATs how they chose to translate that line?" Other then that it just seems like Japanese VA tend to take the job more seriously and it seems like they enjoy it more then the english ones because they deliver their lines with more passion. | ||

From what I've heard, while voice acting is actually a thing in Japan, most of the people who end up dubbing your average not-so-good dub are failed actors. Or something. | ||
