The japanese VA:s are just a 100 times better most of the time, except for a few exceptions or if it's by, say, Ghibli or someone that actually have decent people do their dubs.
Also got my first gunpla today, fuck this is going to turn into an addiction.

I think what turns me off from Dubs are the weird translation. When watching an anime with sub, even if what they are saying is crazy, at least, I don't get to understand it (but can only read).
Imagine a Shirou saying in English : I won't die even if I get killed... Now imagine a Japanese VA saying it in their cool language. And you read that translation and giggle, saying to yourself "its probably a bad translation"

Personally I can't tell the difference between generic childlike otaku-bait seiyuu voice #1 and #2.
Seiyuu otaku are extremely weird and seiyuu (idol in general) culture is pretty fucked up.

That's what subtitles are for, and voice can convey feelings (anger, etc) even if you don't really understand the language it's spoken in - so the skill of the VA:s still matters.
I'm used to subtitles, though, as we don't dub anything except shows and movies for children.

Some would argue the Bebop dub, FLCL dub, Black Lagoon dub, and a few Ghibli dubs (and for pure hilarity...Ghost Stories?) are better than the original.
I'm not in particular agreement, but I can see where they're coming from.

don't pay attention to the guy who thought Azuki was better than tsukiko. Everything's lost with him
But you're both wrong:
+ Show Spoiler [from Episode 3 and 4!] +not even going to bother posting a Haqua pic, that'd be just out of everyone's league so here we go, from todays episode as well: ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/EUPgyKs.png) actually, screw the above, here goes Haqua: + Show Spoiler +![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/h94Hf9d.png) That was the sole reason that scene was so epic and they left it out

Huh? I'm not saying that dubs are better than subs, but you make it sound like all dubs are bad.
And honestly half of Japanese voice actors have really off putting voices, so I don't understand what's with putting down dubs when I can imagine that Japanese voice actors can be just as bad.
It just so happens that one can be ignorant about whether or not their voices are bad.

I haven't watched dubs of anime since pokemon/Dragonballz/Gundam Wing so I can't really judge on the dubs but those I have run against occasionally due to dual audio where the default setting is EN sounds weird when you have watched the Japanese ones. VA's are a pretty decent draw for watching a particular anime for me, its fun for me if I recognize some and it makes me like the character more(or dislike the character more). E.G Hanakana or Yoko Hikasa or others.

Get better ears.
Anyway, Americans have amazing voice actors in the form of actual actors, for example most Disney movies. But obviously they're too expensive to employ on a regular basis in the anime industry.
Basically, most of the voice actors that are employed for dubs are second-rate/third-rate (voice) actors. Maybe if one day the American anime industry made enough money they could start employing better actors. Until then, we're stuck with the leftovers.
But I don't care 'cause I prefer Japanese voices/language as they portray the intricacies of Japanese culture a gillion times better, which is pivotal in many anime. Also don't have to deal with weird translations.

ZNF is right. Japanese VAs can be ugh terrible, and English VAs can be epic. It all depends on the money and talent that production gets a hold of for that part of the show.

Age-2 Zaku normal.
+ Show Spoiler +I just thought of in ZZ when they put a Zaku head on the Zeta gundam, I guess ZZ stands for Zeta Zaku!

Although the dubs i've seen were all worse (imo) then the original, i dont think it's fair to put all dubs together, based on such a small sample. If i have the choice, i always go for the original, to me it just feels better. All in all, I'd say more choice is more better :D
Plus, i really like to recognise 'voices', so i'd rather stick to one language 8)

She's not my favorite, but she's my favorite for Keima. Best pairing, though Tenri is my fave.
