I've never actually watched Gurren Lagann, so I don't know about that. You don't have to apologize about liking FMP, its solid, and Fumoffu is real funny. But come on, even if its your favorite show, better than ALL gundam shows COMBINED? Not even my favorite... 3 shows are better than all gundams combined. I don't think anyone can say that with a straight face. The only way you could say that is if you hated Gundam shows imo. There are tons of Gundam shows, so maybe put together a list of shows that are comparible in number? How is it fair to compare (technically) 4 shows with almost 2 dozen?

Meh, I know anime enough to know what I like. I'm sure there's something out there I might like more either now or in the future, but right now I like TTGL a whole fucking bunch, and it doesn't diminish each time I watch it. There's a lot of mecha I like, not really any I don't like, but I haven't seen all of it.

My top 5 is nothing compared to that kind of history. I guess you can get however many number of gundam shows there are, and find an example of something better for each one and then that combination would be better? I just finished steins;gate and wow what a ride, maybe it's just the initial awesomeness that occurs at the end of any great series but I think I may have a new number 1.

Thats what I was asking you do :p, My mecha anime are pretty limited, and Id rather go through a bunch of other mecha other shows rather than fiddle with the gundam, because if I were to go there then Id want to take it seriously and thats to much time. I dont have to, thats just how Id rather do it if that makes sense. Guess what Im asking is do you think there are maybe 6-7 (2-3 seasons each, at the most) titles in addition to those two that could compete with that sort of experience you can get from an extensive watching of Gundam. And if so what would those be ?

Yeah this is a next up for me, I've heard some knowledgeable people say that steins gate is even better than FMA ( in their opinion ofc). So really curious as to what it's like.

So you'd like a set of mecha shows that are good and not Gundam and not FMP/TTGL. If you don't mind me mixing in Reals with Supers, then it could be like... SDF Macross, Nadesico, Escaflowne, Break Blade, Votoms, New Getter Robo, Shin Mazinger Z. Note that these don't include movies or anything real short, and most of them are around 25~ episodes.

Ive seen got Macross, Mazinger and Escaflowne.
