I wish he would give us something amazing like the current Naruto arc or the Fullbringer arc from Bleach. I dont know what are you talking about. Current Naruto arc is epic, none of us can predict what will happen in the next chapter. Neither can you predict when and where the next big oil spill happens. Not being predictable isn't the same as being good.

Well Naruto is totally predictable but that's another thread.
I do agree with latest chapters though. Oda is jumping around way too much. There's only so many chapters I can see Pika and Zoro clash swords for 1 panel. There's only so many chapters I can watch Rebecca hold onto beetles. Luffy and Cavendesh have been riding that horse for ages now, and nothing of real consequence happened on the way.
They are fairly mediocre, and though a lot happens in One Piece as per usual (especially compared to Naruto and Bleach's slow grind), nothing has actually happened for chapters now. It's a shame, because multiple times Oda has set up stuff to happen, but then pulled out.
"Omg Doflamingo set a trap for Luffy. Nope nvm it's over" "Omg Franky is finally going all out. Oh wait, not the fight just going on longer." "Zoro taking on Pika, he's showing him he's way stronger. Fight still going on though." "Oooh a Law flashback. Oh I guess we're not having one...oh wait, now we're having the flashback!...oh...maybe next time."
It's been a really funny bunch of chapters ever since Sabo took over for Luffy and 5 things started happening simultaneously. Right now there are like 15 characters all in the middle of things but I care about none of them because we haven't had the time to care.
It feels like being at a buffet. We're eating a lot of different stuff, but at the end of the meal I can't remember the pasta salad for the chicken.

Oda often does that I feel. Its just that this time due to plot reasons, its taking longer to develop. I think he'll line up opponents for every protagonist, and then the action will start. There's still Luffy, Law, Kyros, and Cavendish, so I think it'll take a few more chapters, but then we'll see all the fights happen.

It only feels that way because you people are way too impatient. Some chapters are more action-packed than others but I don't think I've seen a single bad one. You need plots to be set up and that's exactly what Oda is doing. Oda just set up Rebecca to beat Diamante, for crying out loud.

Lol well Rebecca is going to get her ass whopped, but I agree people are being to impatient. But I also dislike the many cuts from battle to battle. Usually battles are settled before moving to the next one like it was done in Impel Down.

I think it's because they aren't the true battles yet, it's just a big warm-up, kinda like what happened with the CP9. Some of the strawhats changed their opponents in the middle of the fight and that's when we had full fight after another one.

Exactly. If you read OP you'll notice that there's always a bunch of set up chapters where each of the match-ups are set up and you discover (if it wasn't obvious already) who everyone is going to be fighting. Then, once all the main fights are set up, Oda will go through each fight, essentially one by one (sometimes with some overlap) and then have them resolve in ascending order of importance.
If you're expecting Zoro's fight to be over with before Luffy even starts his, I think you haven't been paying attention. This arc there's just so much going on it's taking a bit longer than normal to set up all the matchups, so we get a lot of teasers about the ones that have already been set up while we wait for the main event to be finalized as well.

i just sit back and enjoy this arc. it is a very critical arc that shows how strong have everyone become after time skip (well, the core members this time), these warming up chapters so far are so damn nice. it would be rather 'boring' or 'formulaic' for Oda just to show us X vs Y and who won etc.
Remember we still have another 10 years of OP (or even 20 years) to go.
Barto rofl best groupie ever

like look at the zoro scenes we saw so far, that's some bleach shit, absolutelly no substance just fancy frames with stuff happening at a snails pace because of this bullshit jumping around the scene stuff
and im not saying the story is bad because odas trying to show multiple events at once, but there is a fine art to it and he has not been doing a good job with it so far

Yeah the pacing and narrative has been kinda off this arc. There were some excellent chapters and some bad ones. Namely, the bad ones seem to be jumping around multiple plots at the same time, whilst the good ones tend to concentrate on one character.

Surely it has nothing to do with your personal preference.

I can only imagine him going apeshit and trying to murder him in cold blood. Nope .. but i don't think luffy will be able to beat him otherwise. Akainu is strong even for luffy right now..

I'm pretty sure Luffy met Akainu when Ace died because, well, it was Akainu on one side... Luffy on the other... and Ace in the middle.
