It shows this interesting dynamic between foes who might technically be of a higher caliber but are caught off guard by the element of surprise. Not only that but luffy has almost always had a harder time vs logia users and this episode only reaffirms that. It also shows that Luffy can't use Kenbunshoku Haki to sense invisible attacks (in this case Caesar taking away all air being the attack) either that or it shows that Luffy can be caught off guard when he thinks he has already won. Luffy beating Chinjao "easily" reaffirms the fact that he's always been good in hand to hand combat. | ||

Caesar had tricks up his sleeve. | ||

Idk how Zoro or Luffy match up but Sanji does seem weaker than zoro after the timeskip, but I'd be suprised if Franky was stronger than him. | ||

I remember reading something somewhere about Oda saying that Luffy and Zoro are equally strong .. it's just that luffy faces the bosses that's why he looks the strongest Oh yeah i forgot he got rekt by Vergo lol and he was having a tough time against mingo Zoro seems to looks like the strongest since he doesn't have weaknesses and/or is generally weak vs some opponents .. and zoro just seems to overpower his opponent with skills and brute force not relying on tricks or such to beat opponents which luffy(sea is the location they are fighting) and sanji(idk sanji seems weak vs specialists like vergo or some opponent who is has a stronger brute force than him) has | ||

Said awhile back that Sanji doesn't feel any different from pre-timeskip except that now he can jump around in the air. His combat is similar, if not identical, and his character image/design is also virtually unchanged. Feel like he might be hiding something, especially since pretty much every single other member of the crew has had a significant makeover in one or more ways. Looking forward to when he gets an extended fight scene that he has to take seriously. Had an amusing theory that it might be related to the okamas and that he's just too embarrassed/refuses to use their fighting style with people watching/unless absolutely forced. They did give him a ride back to Sabaody so he must've gotten along with them eventually in some manner instead of just being chased for 2 years straight + getting the cooking secrets from the scrolls. Or maybe Sanji's image not changing much stands for him refusing to let the okamas change him, because Sanji still likes ladies. | ||

But I have been wondering a bit why there hasn't been any significant change really to his power. I wonder if he is still trying to regain strength after the uber massive blood loss from the mermaids. hehe! It would be an interesting plot line I guess if there was somesort of reveal to unlock his potential in battle. I am just not too sold on the idea if it was an Okama mode unlock. | ||

I was talking about the anime only segment at the end of punk hazard where luffy struggles against caesar before knocking him out. In the manga he just immediately destroys him in that scene. | ||
