![]() Looper - 8/10 Thought the entire movie was really well done - I've watched SO many time travel movies where the director just assumes the audience is stupid. The pace of the movie moved along so well that I never stopped for a second to think if the plot makes sense (with the ending, you start having doubts...). Action was done well, emotional turmoil was real, believable, and had me invested. The plot 'twist'/reveal literally had me going "OH SHIT" in the movie theater, along with everyone else. A solid A- film to watch. The ending... just didn't do it for me. For some people it was absolutely perfect though, so to each his own I guess. ![]() Perks of Being a Wallflower - 8.5/10 I watched this with my girlfriend and just thought it was a really genuine film. The acting is really excellent, Emma Watson is pretty damn hot, and the emotional scenes didn't feel contrived or too cliche. I didn't read the book (which I heard was way more graphic than the film) but still felt that if the film were any different it would be worse IMHO. I like how the backstory of the main character is kept pretty secret until the end, much like the film of the movie (a quiet wallflower who you wouldn't really think twice about), which I thought was a nice touch. I watched it immediately after Looper but still felt it was a more touching/emotional film experience. Oh and I forgot one: ![]() Vertigo - 7-7.5/10 1) You have to be in the right mindset watching this. If you have other things to do, like I did, it makes the ordeal a real pain in the ass as it always seems like something is just about to happen + Show Spoiler + when it doesn't until the last 20-30 min. of the film 2) I watched Rear Window and thought it was a superb film, even by today's standards, so I assumed it would be so for Vertigo... I don't think it aged well. The "investigation" scenes were WAY too slow, with what I believe to be 20 min. of redundant film footage, and the "Vertigo" scenes weren't used to their full potential in my opinion. The nightmare sequence was a bit disorienting, but is obviously a product of a previous era of film. The last portion of the movie was pure mastery and I give the movie as high of a score I did for that alone. Maybe I'll watch it again just for the heck of it, but not anytime soon.

![]() Watch it recently, probably one of the best movies I've ever seen, alot of deep meanings, etc. As for TV shows, I've been watching Game of Thrones, Suits, the mentalist, all great shows, can't wait for the new season of suits and GoT

I watched this the other night, I've had it for a long time now and I kept postponing it because I always had something to do at nights and whos going to watch a "horror" movie or so I thought during the day?. Finally had a night off and I watched this thinking ":O Oh my finally, everyone saying this is REALLY scary so it should be good :D" WRONG wasn't the least bit scary <.<. Total let down as far as "horror" goes, I felt like I was watching a reality show which I guess is what it was from the movie's perspective. The story was original so I'll give them that and the ending was interesting. 6/10 for me, mostly because I was expecting to be scared but this didnt even startle me ![]()

![]() The writing is B-movie level which gives it no chance to not be garbage. Even if you think Kit Harrington is awesome in Game of Thrones for example, his character is laughably bad and dumb in this and he looks like a fool. It's just Star Wars prequel-esque badness in the dialogue and character development. The monsters and settings look really great though, that and the Silent Hill world (which the movie gets no credit for) are the only cool things here. The first movie is wayyy better (even people I saw it with who didn't like the first movie still thought the first one was better). Skip this, and if you haven't seen the first one see that one instead. Not even worth seeing for the cool looking stuff because there's really no atmosphere cause you are constantly brought out of it by terrible stilted dialogue and characters.

A somewhat predictable twist that comes about in an unexpected way. 7.5/10

![]() (mild spoilers maybe?) Everything about this movie sucks. 1) These movies are called Rec because they're found footage type deals. This movie starts off like that, until the zombies show up and the husband decides that he hates the combination of cameras and zombies, and just destroys both people's cameras. This scene makes no sense, and now suddenly it's not a found footage movie anymore? Then why the fuck start off like that? 2) The first two movies had a great, claustrophobic location. There was a lot of suspense in the long hallways or cramped rooms, and there were numerous times when you could see the zombies come attacking from a distance. This movie is just a bunch of shitty cliches. Is a character near a window or curtain or something? A zombie is GUARANTEED to come jumping through it at some point. Does a character have a weapon? Probably going to throw it away at the soonest possible opportunity. Hey, I think I heard something up there. You wait here in this place where there are zombies everywhere while I go check that out for no reason. 3) They're in the kitchen and there's a grate on the floor that they can escape through. All they need to do is take off some screws. One of the dudes has a swiss army knife that he's using. For no apparent reason, some other comes over and knocks it down through the grate. There are still screws on the grate. Oh well, let's just give up on that solution. Nothing else could possibly take off those screws. Not like you're in a fucking kitchen so you can use a knife, or one of your keys, or FUCKING ANYTHING. 4) The bride's in some kind of underground tunnel. There's nothing there. Except for a random ass tree stump with a chainsaw stuck in it? What the fuck is this shit? Then she just decides to cut off part of her wedding dress for no reason? Then some zombies come at her from a distance so she just runs at them without starting the chainsaw and then suddenly knows karate and knocks them all out? WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS? 5) The two main characters are one dimensional pieces of shit. There's absolutely nothing interesting about them in any way, and they're constantly acting retarded. 6) The ending. 7) There's no point to this movie. It has none of the characters from the previous movies, it adds nothing to the mythology of the series and there's no mention of anything from the previous movies. It's not even clear if this is a sequel or a prequel. Fuck this movie.

It's a decent movie I suppose but it was obnoxious to me, too meta and up its own ass. If you look at it as basically commentary/satire on modern movies though it has good points.

Quite entertaining, I haven't watched the other parts but this one has a funky style. Doubtful ending but suits the film ^^

If I had read the book, perhaps I would have taken more from the movie. As a standalone movie of 2h 44m, I can't say I was enthralled. With so many different stories at different times, and with each story attempting to tackle a deep human emotion, an issue of humanity, or a horrible truth of society, I felt it was spread to thin. Although each story was admirable, I didn't have the time to attach my feelings to the characters or to their cause. The connection people had throughout the stories was, at least in the movie and on first sight, nothing more than encountering one another multiple times across time and space, but without reason. I applaud the attempt at an unorthodox method of storytelling method... but it was undeveloped, unless I'm missing something.

Because Fight Club is clearly closer to a Tarantino movie than to Tarkovski... If you think the "philosophy" behind it is serious, it's a completely dumb movie. I personnally dislike the movie, I understand how you can think it's well-shot/funny etc... Anyway, one of those films overrated by the internet generation, not as badly as LoTR, Shawshank, or Nolan's I guess, because Fincher knows how to shot a scene at least.

Edit : did not see there was someone who liked Rear Window better than Vertigo -_- Makes me sad, I think Vertigo is BY FAR the best Hitchckock movie... There's a reason why it's often mentionned among the best movies of all time.

I've laughed a couple of times ("I can hear the fat kid running, that is hilarious!"), this might be the funniest romantic comedy out there. I'd give it a 6/10, it stands out in the genre, but the genre itself is so terrible that it doesn't suffice for a better rating. But you gotta have at least one of those movies up your sleeve...

While we're at it: The best romantic comedy ever to me is clearly, by far, not even close: Grosse Pointe Blank. Great movie, fantastic soundtrack. If you don't know it yet, give it a shot. If you don't like it, don't blame me, there must be something wrong with you. ![]() Talking Dan Aykroyd, Trading Places. Legendary flick.
