![]() Pretty crazy movie. Very good though. It matches Let the Right One In as two of the only good vampire movies out there.

Usualy horror movies are fairly predictable (not that thats a bad thing) but this movie quickly turned from a decent quality horror into a very neat psychological thriller taking turns i never wouldve guessed. Its extreme!! I recomend this movie. But before you watch this movie please get off your high horses and try not to think too much about how hard its trying to be "deep and meaningful" and just enjoy it. I have some "simple" friends who would find this movie really intellectualy stimulating and although i dont exactly feel that way specifically about this movie it really goes into some pretty dark subjects and doesnt skimp on the delivery. 3.5/5

![]() Drive. I saw this movie weeks ago and it's been on my mind ever since. It is about "A Hollywood stunt performer who moonlights as a wheelman discovers that a contract has been put on him after a heist gone wrong." Directed by Nicolas Winding Refn and stars Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Bryan Cranston, Albert Brooks and Ron Perlman. This is a movie for people that watch a lot of movies. Don't be fooled, it's not a Fast and the Furious or The Transporter knock-off (nothing wrong with these movies, they are fun). Yes there is driving and a car chase or two along with some brutal action, however the title "Drive" refers to cars just as much as it refers to the main character/protagonist who has drive inside of him. Why? We don't know. He has little to no backstory and for that I am grateful. Movies these days seem to want to explain every detail for the audience, no matter how absurd, and leave out any imagination and any questions. The movie is a throwback to the gritty noir crime dramas of the 70's and it's quite refreshing. The directing is excellent, the cinematography is breathtaking (LA looks beautiful as ever), the soundtrack is unforgettably awesome, and the acting is masterful. Gosling is so damn good in this (people keep saying he is the best actor of this generation and I'm starting to believe it). I've seen a lot of dislike for the minimal dialogue, but I loved it. There are a lot of powerful scenes where nothing is said for long periods of time but there is more emotion and feeling conveyed here than what any cliche lines of dialogue could have expressed. Mulligan is great and a natural, believable beauty who has some serious chemistry with Gosling. Bryan Cranston is, what anyone who has followed his career would expect, terrific as always. Albert Brooks is a great villain and actually menacing. Ron Perlman doesn't disappoint either, great performance. The cinematography combined with smart use of the great soundtrack made this movie almost hypnotic at times. I have to say though, this movie isn't for everyone and it definitely seems polarizing (some lady is sueing over this movie, really? c'mon people). It doesn't try to cater to every kind of audience, so I understand some of the disdain. In closing, I watch a lot of movies so it's the little things I really appreciate and look for. This movie has a lot of them. It's definitely one of my favorite movies of the last decade or so. The review from "Half In The Bag" said it best I think: "I loved this movie, go see it. You'll hate it."

![]() The Big Show: A Giants World - Was actually curious about this for awhile. Now, I don't watch wrestling anymore but in the 90s and early 2000's I was a decently big fan of it before they pussified it.This basically just tells the life story of The Big Show. Was rather interesting. ![]() Mulholland Drive - I just have one thing to say about this. + Show Spoiler + Lesbian scene. Also, Laura Herring has some nice tits. ![]() Bloodstained Memoirs - Basically a wrestling documentary that alternates between a bunch of old school wrestlers like Roddy Pipper, RVD, Chris Jericho, , Mick Foley. Kinda gives a little glimpse into their personality, some of what their backround was like. It's basically just a series of interviews for the most part, but was pretty interesting. ![]() Castaway on the Moon - Just watched this. Was good, it covered alot of ground on many different fronts I thought. From Netflix: "Kim Seong-geun (Jae-yeong Jeong), despondent over being dumped by his girl, decides to end it all by jumping into the Han River, but instead wakes up on a tiny island in the middle of the waterway, now a castaway in the teeming heart of civilization. Part social commentary, part romantic adventure with hints of science fiction, Lee Hey-jun's film touches on topics ranging from economic disparity to the alienating nature of modern urban existence." Also: + Show Spoiler + The duck boat floated away during the typhoon, saddest moment in the movie imo.

![]() http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1189073/ Very surrealistic movie. Is not told in one timeline. Sorta gives you the 2nd third of the movie first, then the first third and then the final part. Fair amount of personal stories involve and alot are missing to begin with in the movie. As the movie progresses it gets more perverse.I mean seriously perverse. You should really watch the movie but if not I'll give you the reason why it's so f'ing perverse.. + Show Spoiler + Main character thinks he gets his daughter raped - he then captures the rapist and keeps him as a science pet, slowly turning him into a woman via plastic surgery (main character is awesome surgeon). After a time period of 6 years he falls in love with his "pet-woman", because he, cleverly enough, made him/her look like his x-wife The movie is overall pretty bizarre. Personally I'm not a "great thinker" during movies, I don't always figure what the next part is or how is it going to end. Though I feel this movie was cleverly trying to remove my ability to do so - had I had it - via many personal stories and time jumping. You can watch the trailer - doesn't really give away the plot but lets you know something serious is going on. Also, Antonio Banderas!

I recently watched Green Lantern as well. Yep its a bad movie but I went in with crazy low expectations and wasn't disappointed. They coulda done so much more with the Ring though. I also watched: ![]() for like the 10th time. I have all 10 season of SG:1 on DVD and all 5 of Atlantis. All the movies too!

![]() 13 Assassins 8/10 Solid Movie. In the beginning it is slow and at the end it is non-stop action, with good choreography. A lot of the humor of the original got lost, so if you haven't seen 7 samurai watch that one instead. ![]() Soylent Green 8/10 Postapocalyptic/Dystopian. I liked this a lot. It takes plays in an ecologically destroyed planet where one company has a food monopoly. I think there are almost zero special effects in this movie, which means it can be taken serious compared to other old futuristic movies. There is also a ridiculously funny scene of someone getting crushed by a payloader. ![]() Logan's Run 7/10 Also postapocalyptic/dystopian, with a society that kills people over 30 to keep itself sustainable . I like the setting of this one and the story is alright too, except for the ending which I didn't like and was drawn out too long. I didn't like the actors in it. Also, there are lots of special effects which look really bad ![]() If you aren't a fan of the setting it's a 6/10.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0174856/ 6.43214222/10 as Jewison clearly depicts the effects orfracism at that time, and it shows the true story quite well. Della Pesca is an asshole Bob Dylan ftw.

![]() Wheels on Meals - Apparently it was supposed to be called Meals on Wheels, would make more sense, but the distributing company Golden Harvest wanted to change it, because their last two movies that started with the letter M flopped. Anyways, two cousins run a fast food stand out of their van in Barcelona, and end up meeting a prostitute, who's really a robber, and they get caught up in her getting abducted and go save her. It's the typical Jackie Chan movie, story is nothing special and usually involves saving someone, interspersed with some fight scenes, stunts, and physical comedy. Found it to be pretty mediocre though. ![]() Kagemusha - A lower class criminal is taught to impersonate a dying warlord. Another great from Kurosawa, reminded me alot of Ran in some ways. ![]() The Coast Guard - Guy in the Korean Coast Guard has fantasys of killing an NK spy and gaining glory. He ends up killing a civilian who was fucking his girlfriend inside a forbidden zone. Proceed to the rest of the movie where the soldier and the girlfriend are all fucked up mentally. Pretty dumb overall, even if you enjoy korean movies I wouldn't bother with this. If you really want a movie thats more about the Korean military/conflicts, go watch JSA, or Tae Guk Gi . ![]() Drive - Heard alot about it on here so I decided to check it out. Liked this alot. I never watched the previews for it though, apparently people expected a movie like the Fast&Furious movies. Anyways, great movie even though I did have some complaints about it. I still think its the best movie I have seen to come out this year.

![]() Just watched "the shining" for the first time, since it is Halloween weekend. It was pretty good, and if for no other reason, it was at least worth watching just to understand the numerous references to it in modern culture. "Here's Johnny!"
