And used that position to amass even more power?? And on the Iron Islands he is a prince...so powerful that he gets one whole ship. Of course to be fair in this universe one crappy ship of pirates is good enough to capture the capital of a kingdom at war so who knows....
How do you steal rocks or wood for ships??? Sardinia used to be a huge iron exporter too throughout Roman and even Middle Ages yet no Viking society evolved there....where did the Vikings succeed? In places with lots of wood and lots of food to serve as a base for their mighty warrior culture. Lannisters right hand of the Baratheons? Not from what I've seen. seems more like Tywin is the most powerful man in Westeros, just prefers not to rule from the throne. Your Sardinia argument, not sure how that really relates to anything. Feels like you're just trying to show off your history knowledge there. "They cant build ships, the iron islands dont look like they have a lot of wood". Its WOOD, not oil, or gold or some other resource thats actually rare. The vikings were great raiders because of the design of their ships and because of the people sailing the ships, not because they had so much more frigging wood then everyone else. Theon wants to be a king, its just that simple. Dunno why people find that so hard to grasp, and are making some hilariously convoluted arguments as to why it doesnt make sense. "But, why would he want to be king of Faroe islands when he could be right hand to the right hand to the right hand of the king of Scotland". Uh, cause the North isnt Scotland and Iron Islands arent the Faroe islands. This is modelled on Medieval culture, he wants to be a KING with all that entails. I don't know whether you`re referring to Tywin after or before Roberts reign, because I might agree after his reign but definitely not before. Tywin may have had the money all along, but Robert as king always had the loyalty of the Northern Kingdom, the Vale, Riverlands and the Baratheons. As powerful as the Lannister's are, they'd be smashed under that much power, just like the Targaryeons were, who had Dorne and Highgarden on their side. After Renly's death, I'd definitely agree with you Tywin has the most power in Westeros and is basically king at the moment.
And why would you wage war on the husband of your daughter?

Just a question on the last episode
+ Show Spoiler +Who was the random lady who got ripped apart in the riot? Is she a noble or just a random character? I don't remember that happening in the books.

+ Show Spoiler +Except for the fact that Tywin being there reminds Arya that she hates him and she has 3 people that she can kill, so having them meet each other in the show is really poor done where as in the book she has him in the back of her mind and has more immediate issues and uses the 3 kills on those.

That was my guess as well, but I don't think there were any "telling" hints.

Incest (or rather, inbreeding) does not cause cruelty. It does increase the chance of birth defects by a miniscule amount, that is only damaging to a lineage if it occurs for generations.

They can only afford 10 seconds of wolf , not even dragons this episode lol. Pretty pissed Hodor didnt get to say "Hodor" too. Also, during the scene where Cersei says all that stuff about loving someone, and then said "I will take her from you." That look Tyrion gave her was scary.
|
It's getting intense.
A few things I didn't like: Sansa runs away from a few man trying to rape her. Which way do you chose to go? The dark corridor. :D
Ygritte looked far too hot. Why didn't the cast Megan Fox and let her run around in an outfit from Transformers? Would have been the same.

What's the reason that Tyrion has the power to ship Marcaella away to Dorne?
Doesn't Cersai have more power than him?

It's a politically smart move for the Lannisters. Myrcella, a) distances herself from King's Landing incase shit goes down and b), gets married to the Dornish royalty, tying the two families together.
Cersei doesn't really have more power than Tyrion at the moment, he's the hand of the king when the king is an incompetent little brat and everyone knows it.

If King's Landing falls, at least one of the royal children will survive. It also serves another purpose as she is to be betrothed to a Prince of Dorne (who have yet to declare arms in the War of Five Kings) and seal a pact between the Lannisters and Dorne. Cersei I guess saw the sense in that.

All the power Cersei has right now is being Joffreys mom. And a bad mom at that.
