Yeah that game is just a garbage cash grab. It doesn't really have anything to do with the TV show though.

That's a different game. The game they announced is a From Software (Souls/Bloodborne/Seikro) game.
That is the game which was announced, not really anything tangible yet. But the souls games were fun so far and GRRM helping a little with the lore is probably a good thing

Ah, ok, I assumed he was talking about the GoT mobile game
The article writes that they quit on their own but thats fucking bullshit imho. If they were already contracted for such a long time wouldnt that be practically career suicide. First of all, nothing is bigger than star wars. On top of that wouldnt they have to pay a huge fine for breaking a contract? And who would hire them if they are known to just quit projects. Im fairly sure they got kicked out and it makes me happy.

You should read the article, considering they are working for Netflix there is your reason why they would quit. And either Netflix pays any fine or they pay it with the bag of money Netflix gave them.
They don't care about their reputation because they cashed out and are set for life. Besides, does the industry even care about this stuff?
What I'm more interested in is why Netflix wanted to pay so much for them considering what they did to GoT when they had to write their own material.
I did read about the netflix stuff. But i can not imagine netflix paying more than disney (+ fine). And in what world does someone flake out on star wars to do some shitty netflix series. As i said, nothing can be more prestigious and better for your career than Star wars.

Have you followed the reception of the latest Star Wars movies? Pretty sure the directors of Episode 8 or Solo didn't get much prestige out of that, more like the opposite.
I can't find numbers of their Netflix contract, only that it's a "9 figure deal", so I imagine it is indeed more than what Disney was paying them.
People who dislike D&D and see this news as vindication that 'they suck' have it pretty backwards imo.

They've shown they can do some decent writing. The 'chaos is a ladder' scene for example is entirely them. People blame them for the shitty ending of the show but I'm 100% sure Bran will be king in Martin's ending too. Of course they also made plenty of fuck-ups, especially the outrageous stuff they say in the 'behind the episode' bits lmao.

Jesus Christ. You know, on some level I feel bad for them.
This just goes to show: you always need a second opinion on your work. Always ask for feedback. Always listen to feedback. Don't ever get complacent. A first draft should never be the final product.
Well, they're filming a pilot for a new show after the last pilot flopped internally (and after they reshot and recast the last pilot). That's to be expected with something that is still a pretty hot property with HBO. I'm not sure I would put money on this new show seeing the light of day, though.
I'm a bit lost on the D&D contract stuff. Are multiple separate organizations suddenly cutting ties to them or are all these somehow interconnected to one thing specific thingy? Or is the prequel even particularly relevant to D&D apart from being a GoT series?
It feels that there's something more serious going on behind the scenes if multiple organizations suddenly feel like going separate ways.

Neither the cancelled nor the new GoT series have anything to do with D&D.
