However, wouldn't it just be funny if Euron just straight up attacked King's Landing? Cersai, despite "not trusting him" seemed very keen on trusting him with not destroying the fucking city. He had his entire fleet with him. I highly doubt the Lannisters had their entire army at King's Landing.
Also, I really hope that Euron is planning to double cross Cersai and this alliance proposal is to just get her off his back while he tries to capture a dragon or something. It just seems so unrealistic that he would sacrifice his whole fleet to fight off Dany in the small hope that Cersai marries him. It would be pretty out of character TBH.

I don't think so. The show seems to simplify everything right now. What you see is what you get, and I think the writers are trying to make the various alliances quite clear so everyone can understand who is fighting who.
This is both good and bad. Good because it's clear the writers aren't relying on GRRM anymore who obviously has no real idea how to fit all the pieces together, and bad because the show doesn't feel "epic" anymore. It's just something you watch because you already are invested into it.

Shall We Begin
3 words to bring the hype up
lol what is ed sheeran doing in GoT

good start to the season. I think the arya part was really badass, but I agree that sams part was a bit too long. Didn't really mind Ed Sheeran there. I know him and some of his songs but I didn't really have his face in mind so I didn't recognize him. And for me he blended in quite well with the other guys.

I assume those were all intended to give the idea that she certainly gives a fuck about being home. But she is a pragmatic person and that shows with the 'Shall we begin' at the end. No point sitting about being sentimental for longer then necessary. Maybe you're right, but those couple of moments you mentioned were devoid of any emotion, so to me it felt like she paid respect to the place rather than "feeling home" so to speak. But again, Danny doesn't display too many emotions in general and perhaps what you're saying is true. Also, Dany was still a baby when she fled across the sea. She won't have any memories of Dragonstone to actually 'feel home' about. Its more of a 'so this is home'.

THE KING IN THE NORTH
my god it was so epic.

Honestly, Sam's scenes are some of the most boring in the entire show. In the previous seasons, he was with Jon and the Night's Watch most of the time, so I didn't quite mind him, but since his travel arc started, his solo scenes are quite dull. I get that he has an important part to play, yet every time the action switches to him, I feel as if time slows down, and the story comes to a grinding halt. I just hope the payoff at the end is worth it, otherwise I am going to be mad at the directors for wasting so much time on him.

Sam's part would have been better if he had discovered something we didn't already knew

I found the old man poop montage pretty entertaining myself

It'd be kinda funny in an anticlimactic way because he's come so far on an epic quest for knowledge and ends up doing menial stuff at the beginning of his Maester training instead, especially given his noble background. But we can pretty much assume he was doing the same kind of stuff at The Wall and they just never showed us it before. Nights Watch had no servants, everyone there worked and Sam was attendant to an ancient Maester there.

Given the speed at which is actual training is supposedly proceeding, I'd place my bets on him finding some hidden knowledge through stealing books and getting expelled shortly for his actions, because otherwise he'd take a good few years before he returns to castle black / Jon Snow.

Lyanna Mormont is the real MVP. I have prepared very bad words for GRRM if he does something to Mormont family.

Mormont girl feels like a total cliche to me at the moment. You don't need a girl insisting that she's more of a man than men to put swords in the hands of women. Just point out that after all the men die defending the wall their corpses will be reanimated by the Night King and come to kill their own families. "Would you like your daughter to be armed when your evil zombie corpse comes to tear her apart?" Or if you need a tough girl around to prove that women can fight, Brienne is literally right fucking there. Also at some point Brienne should mention that she has half of Ice on her waist, it's the kind of thing that'll come in handy.

Something else, did anyone actually feel satisfied with the opening of arya murdering the freys? It was extremely obvious what would happen immediately and it being that easy to get revenge didn't create any impact on me tbh. I already felt that way last season with walder frey though. The execution of these scenes feels off, it's not earned and that's the reason i don't care all that much about it when in reality it should be a huge deal if done right.

Kinda, i did enjoy this one much more than the Walder Frey death though, that scene was extremely underwhelming considering what he did at the red wedding.

Deus Ex Arya is probably my least favorite part of the series atm

I will say, I loved Jim Broadbent's appearance, and the Hound was as phenomenal as ever.
