How did Dexter know which building to go to? (I may have missed something about that). After clearing the roof, why didn't that cop camp the elevator exit? Why didn't the police ask about what was wrong after it took 30 seconds to get a response from the cop on that building? Fairly unprofessional. It should be obvious to them that the killer could answer the radio and that the delay in the response should be suspicious. I find the show entertaining, though, and I don't mind these things too much.

Dexter claims to have all these intense feelings for these people and yet he deliberately exposes them to serial killers to feed his obsession and would rather they die than risk getting caught. Dexter is a sociopath, he personally never thinks that what HE does puts his loved ones in danger. By using false names and hiding his family he thinks he has the whole situation under control. The revelation on the boat isn't that he needs to involve the police, its him wrestling with the idea of him needing to let go of being controlled by his dark passenger which was the reoccurring theme this season. As far as more people dying by his inaction. Dexter doesn't actually care about that. He's not killing these people to save innocents. He's killing them because he likes killing people. Or I should say killing bad people. Its his ritual thats been built up over decades of doing this.

He knew which building it was because of the last words Travis said ("pillar of light", or something around those lines and the building is very linked to the sun) and with the drawing of the building on the paper bag. I really did not like this final, half way between a soap opera of the constantly moaning Deb and the unrealistic bullshit that is the rest of the episode. I don't expect a fully realistic show obviously, but this is just sad/funny depending on how much you care.

I think it's silly how he was able to use one phrase that Travis said + Google to narrow down to the exact building that Travis would be on. Even though there is a lot of silly stuff like that, I still thought it was a decent season.

Deb: Dexter I love you but you kill da evil people Dexter: ...yeah, so keep a secret and I'll give you sexy time Deb: Ok, a killer per lovenight, deal? Dexter: deal. ...I'm really curious about the game-maker, what he knows about dexter, the ice-truck killer case, etc.

MEH good season I guess. Actually not really. All this Deborah stuff... and there's been so many stupid things this season. Like Dexter killing weed grower joe, Dexter killing Garcia the Boat Thief, Dexter killing Travis in the church... basically all these Dexter 5 minute side tracks suck.

I hope everything ties together well. Dexter made a lot of silly mistakes this season: the 911 phone record his boat going missing the same night as the "lake of fire" tabblow (sp?) leaving the lions mask behind at the crime scene just to name the recent ones. I remember there being something every episode this season that Dexter was either careless about or blatantly ignored future ramifications. I really hope that some of that stuff was put there as evidence for a "dokes-esqe" character to be introduced. Maybe Quin will get his shit together by returning to his suspicions of Dexter? I feel there is a lot of wasted potential on this show, maybe everything will come together in the last few seasons? fingers crossed....

Seriously, having deb find out is not even a big deal anymore. He told every other fucking person he met this season.

The only conclusion i get from this season is: a) Deb now knows about Dexter's secret (oh god why not just let her find out in the end of season 5????) b) there is this other mysterious lab guy geek we don't know much about. Great.

But alongside that we have all the "I love Rita/Harrison" storyline which keeps on happening. He put himself in harms way with Trinity and Rita died because of it. After he did the exact same thing with Travis he didn't even worry about Harrison and then once it became clear Harrison was in danger his response was to get even more out of his depth, despite knowing there were trained police officers on hand who could save him. He's a massively delusional idiot who is a danger to himself and his family but I'm pretty sure the writers aren't doing it deliberately, the show is just retarded.

+ Show Spoiler + He definitely pressed on the plunger, but the easiest way to do it was for him to just empty the syringe while Travis turned his back on Dexter, putting Harrison in the elevator, then pull the plunger back. It doesn't really need to be saline since it's not an intravenous injection.
