The Vermouth arc? Which arc is that again? It's been a while T-T...

ends with the episode with the monster costume party on the ship where Heiji poses as Shinichi and where conan confronts vermouth along with Jodie
I remember that episode also reinvigorating my desire to finish the series (marathoning 345 episodes really takes it out of you when you are doing it back to back) but even with that feeling I will still in a non spoilery style say that I liked the next 2 major black specials better by a lot (clash is probably my favorite set of episodes in the entire series) so look forward to those.

Eh, its no more unrealistic then a lot of the other things the series does though I do wonder if Jodie was supposed to be Vermouth at the start (like really early on in that before the hints started getting dropped) but then everyone liked her to much so Gosho did the twist though based on how they normally do mysteries large and small that's probably not the case.

I believe the main group is at least 7 chapters behind. I know they finally got around to doing the most recent 2 chapters that another group did but I don't know who it was so I cant check on if they are working on any further chapters.
Edit: Editing to note they are only 5 chapters behind, I forgot about January breaks and such so it shouldn't be that much work to catch up.

I don't think so, she's named Jodie Starling after all, after Jodie Foster's role in Silence of the Lambs as Clarice Starling. And Araide had a lot of screentime for such a minor character, so it makes sense that he was supposed to play a role.
Did Conan always do the ah-le-le thing or did it randomly just start in one episode? it always cracks me up especially when Kogoro did it in the wrestler episode
I think he does it since a very early episode, as part of his disguise as a kid, because Ran is getting suspicious.
One of my favorite episodes is when the Detective Boys call Conan out for acting overly childish. (the episode where their teacher takes them to an interview with a writer who is found murdered)

I don't really mind them being behind though, as long as they catch up eventually. I think that since the arc plotting is so slow it's better to read more episodes in the same sitting, so I never bother reading the latest chapter unless there are a whole bunch.
by there way are there any hints that Subaru Okiya(glasses guy who lives in the Kudo house) is not Akai Shuichi because otherwise its pretty obvious that its him.+ Show Spoiler +

thanks to this thread I also started slowly watching the series again after I've pretty much haven't watched a single Conan related thing since 2005 when the germans stopped dubbing the episodes around 300~ish where conan hides in the locker and barely avoids Gin.
The Vermouth episodes were pretty cool but the 10+ episodes special with Akai Shuichi and Mizunashi Rene were just amazing. Didn't have time to continue watching yet but I'll marathon myself up to date when finals are over in 1 month xD.
The opening 13 is good but personally 14 & 16 are my favourites of the new ones I didn't know yet.
PS: anyone else couldn't care less about Ran&Sonoko but has a thing for Yukiko Kudo, Eri Kiseki & Inspector Sato?
Sonoko is probably my least favorite character but I guess I'm glad she's still in the show because it keeps me from focusing my dislike on other more important characters. Probably would dislike Ran the next most because she's so oblivious to everything. At least Kogoro can be kind of funny about it. Ran just cries
