Then you clearly don't know Guillermo Del Toro.
This. It seems that everyone is a critic now, understand that this movie is just a homage to giant monster films and giant robot anime directed by Guillermo del Toro, what more can you ask? If you still don't get it, this movie is not for you.
They filmed in Toronto and had a casting call for non unionized extras.
Sadly as I was walking out of the one scene they filmed, I took a look at the video screens that Guillermo Del Toro was looking at and the camera panned passed me and my friends and we were out of focus in the background.. =(
It was the scene at 52 seconds in the trailer though. I was too far away to hear the dialogue but it looked like when the main character is being introduced to the Jagers in the bunker or something.
Was a fun experience. Got paid $14 an hour, stood around and ate free food for like 8 hours, worked for 45 minutes and then went home lol.
Blade 2, Hellboy 1 & 2 above average, loved Pan's, hope to love this but it has got above average action flick all over it. If it was the exact same trailer but with Michael Bay as director I'd say it was a piece of shit, oh how I'm so biased against him.

Some of the toy line is out now. Probably alot more marketing coming soon. Three of the Jaegers are below. (in the spoiler).
Striker Eureka : Australia Gipsy Danger : US Crimson Typhoon : China
And I think the 2nd pic is a poster for the toy line with 3 of the Kaiju. The first two you seen in the trailers. The 3rd one I don't think is in the trailer.
So every single country gets their own weapon. That sounds surprisingly awesome, they have to have a lot of action scenes in it or else it will be bad.

If this movie is a success I could definitely see G Gundam being made into a movie by 2014.
