Well, there is quite the time skip in between, if I understand correctly the time goes faster inside the shell or something like that (2 days = an hour in the outside world, so imagine how much time passed inside the shell when 3 weeks pased on the outside). So the cooking contest ended and don slime plans on reviving the old man. Which is probably gonna go like "hey ichiryu we'll revive you" - "no thanks now the next generation is responsible for the sake of the world I'm done here", at which point Don Slime is getting seriously pissed off. Or, even more likely, one of the appetite things that Neo send out landed where they prepared the cooking to revive Ichi and prevented it, so now Don Slime is out on revenge. Which I'm a bit sad about, because to me it would be much cooler if the only gourmet demon that was claimed to have a chance fighting Neo didn't get involved just to hype up the strength of Neo even more before Toriko steps in.
Also that research on the back channel is interesting

there probably gonna use the hors deuvres or whatever was the reviving one and don slime just went to tear some out of neo i guess
