I feel the author tried very hard to pick up the hype the last 5 chapters or so (since we switched away from Blue Grill) but it wasn't working; and he just fucked it and try to end thing as fast as possible so we can have an ending to the storyline before the Manga got shafted. Which is a damn shame because there's still so many things to come like the Gourmet eclipse and the space arc. Lameee Edit: just check, Toriko is hovering at the lower half of the middle pack of the weekly Jump popularity (7 or 8). Doesn't look too bad, not sure why the manga is in danger of getting cut :/ | ||

We know Toriko has untold potential but watching him get truly destroyed by the Horse king with a little breath and then having bambina show himself capable of killing the 4hk several (maybe hundred or thousand) times over before they could react to then having toriko actually fight an 8 king honestly feels like too much, which i understand if he needs to cut a lot out. Then the whole shit with Midora claiming toriko could actually hurt him (LMFAO). I honestly couldn't take it seriously. I fully understand the hype behind Torikos individual powers but i don't think anyone can argue this is how it was meant to develop. If this manga is coming to an exceptionally quick end then that would be tragic as i feel this could be an incredible story but oh well . | ||

While the pacing and certain choices the author has made are certainly criticizable, it was in fact the natural progression that is expected. What makes a story good is that they end or progress. You can't have one theme continuing on forever -however original and entertaining it is- as for every Forikorder who would want that, there would be 10 times more people thinking the storytelling has become stale. | ||

I guess it is difficult for any manga to have the "perfect" length or pacing given that different readers will have their own view on what is perfect. For me at least, whilst I feel like the plot is being rushed now, at least the story is developing and I am hoping that the manga will end on a high. After the drawn-out end to Naruto (and let's not even talk about Bleach), it's not too bad if Toriko finishes with me wishing that it went on for a bit longer. | ||
