Yes, it was water/blood bending, but even katara couldn't undo the effects on Korra. It took some deus ex machina for korra to become unblocked, to then be able to restore others, notably Beifong. Amon was pretty OP.

I thought that because air benders are the most spiritual they have the ability to see spirits and project themselves as an energy being. Also, through meditation, they have the ability to locate people.

isnt jinorah the only one who can do the spiritally locate people? i dont remember anyone else from TLA or korra unless u can count that time when aang was doing avatar state training and he saw katara being captured and went to save her

I kinda want to know what are the conditions to having that 3rd eye combustion power. Is it like a Naruto where its genetic and the ones with the power are part of a clan or is it just luck of the draw like metal bending.

Metal bending is not luck of the draw that is something that Bolin says because he lacks confidence in his own ability so he believes the rumor, but the "1 in 100" statement is denied by Suyin. Bloodlines did seem to have an affect on blood bending at least according to Yakone when he told his sons they had a natural affinity for blood bending. Tarlok was able to blood bend without the moon, while Noatak was able to psychic blood bend without the moon. Combustion seems to be a form of psychic bending, but nobody knew how Combustion man got his ability so it's a mystery with P'Li too.

Seems like a genetic thing to me. Like tarlock and amon's blood bending. Although I am of the opinion that any firebender with proper training can at least immitate the ability. Just like how Zuko learned lightning redirection even though hes not a water guy.

I was a bit miffed in season 1 when they gave Amon bloodbending. I thought it was a skill so badass only select few female waterbenders would be able to use and only in full moon at that. Meh

Season 4 is almost guaranteed since it's already mostly done. It might be just online though with the direction the news seems to be hinting.
