I guess the story is bigger then just North vs South... still wonder when the spirits will come into play. Will the North chief use them as heavy artillery?

The story isn't bad, the funny parts are top notch, but it sure lacks some awesomeness in the bending.

Seems coincidental that in the same action, he becomes the hero and gets his brother banished so he becomes king. yay!

Too bad Unalaq never saw the second half of Thor.

Somehow I get the feeling Jinora is going to be a big player in the season (I've only watched the first episode pair so far). I'm also not sure what to think about the antagonist for this season, at least the preliminaries. He seems very much to be Amon 2.0- obsessed with an ideal but ultimately both flawed in character and execution. Expect more 'I thought I knew, but I was so wrong' type stuff coming up, and we won't even be treated to the frankly unexpected suicide-ending of last season that made it stand out a little from the norm in such plots.

The Avatar spirit is one of the most powerful in the Avatar world yet she can't beat one single dark spirit and doesn't use it to just break the limbs of Unalaq? I guess they have to do this to make the show interesting though. Maybe there'll be a reason like "she lacks spirit". And she did kind of get suckerpunched by the spirit. Still don't like how she got confronted by Unalaq, was beating him, and then just let him go. Avatar state Korra can travel what? 50 times faster than a boat to the North Pole?

For Aang, except for when he formed an ice crystal for the first time, and for when he died to Azula, every time he's been in/used the Avatar form, he's leveled mountains. I don't remember Aang leveling any mountains. Ever. Keep in mind that spirits are, quite literally, on a whole other plane of existence. The same rules do not apply. Also, remember that while they are being assholes, they are still a part of the water tribe. Of all of the nations, the water tribe appears to be the most community oriented group. The main theme of this season is obviously family. Even if that family is a douchebender supposedly trying to use the dark side of the spirits to get da powah!

Even if that family is a douchebender supposedly trying to use the dark side of the spirits to get da powah! Aang called in enough water to fill a lake on the final episode. He's made ice that lasts a hundred years with energy to sustain himself in stasis. He's demolished entire Earth Kingdom cities like when that mad Earth King tried to induce the Avatar state. And when fully provoked by Ozai, when he actually stayed in the avatar form for more than a few seconds he showed that he was stronger than any army. Kyoshi split a landmass off from the mainland and turned it into an island. Korra's avatar state usage was underwhelming. She should be able to demolish all of the Northern water tribe ships and force a surrender in seconds. Good predictions above from the people who said Unalaq framed his brother to become Chief.

And yeah, Korra in her Avatar state is very, very underwhelming. Every time Aang entered the Avatar state, he did something badass. Here, she summons a ball of water to gently push out the boats. Kind of anticlimactic. The first three episodes were okay, but this one was kind of bad. You have "big" revelations and events but seriously I felt so uninvolved and unsurprised by them due to the voice acting.
