I don't think us Dutchies can legally watch it online, atleast not all too soon after it's released. If I remember correctly Nickelodeon is into geofucking so no soup for anyone outside of the US. Just torrent it and buy the DVD when it comes out.

Nah, I like how things are getting serious immediately. A little surprised the Equalist movement is gone though. Amon was just a figurehead, the societal problems that caused it are still around. Anyways, anyone else really like the motion picture thing? I thought it was a cool wink to real life history in that the first motion picture in real life was a horse galloping.

+ Show Spoiler + After watching the first two episodes, this might foreshadow a civil war between the two water tribes.

I feel that equalist movement will be subtly hinted at throughout the series, you can see it in the treatment of Tenzin's siblings who are treated as inferior due to lack of airbending. Its up to the writers to see which direction they want to go with that. I feel that equalists has so much potential, its like...reverse x-men, an animated story seemingly for kids but filled with metaphors for civil rights movements. Except this time the people with the superpowers are the ones doing the oppressing. Also, does anyone know who that crazy water tribe business guy is suppose to be a parody of? I feel like I'm getting hints of PT Barnum but...cant be sure.

To be fair he is making it awfully hard for her to do her job... doesn't tell her there are spirit attacks going on, doesn't tell her he's a criminal (!), etc. She's treating everyone pretty poorly though, you can tell she's not having a very good time in her life in general at this point. She has this false idea that she knows it all, combine that with the fact everyone around her is being crazy overprotective, not a good combination.

+ Show Spoiler + Korra's unlce is the antagonist and his goal seems to be domination of the spirit world and gaining power in general. He hired the barbarians to attack the Northern Tribe because he knew Korra's dad would overreact and anger the spirits. It's funny he can somehow calm the spirits down. IMO he has some sort of brainwashing power of the spirits. The way I see it the spirits are naturally peaceful creatures but can get angry if they get brainwashed. So basically Korra's uncle set it all up so he could have his brother exiled and become the chief. After that he became chief and mastered his spirit brainwashing ability or whatever. When he heard his brother had the next avatar he planned to have her brainwashed as well. Except there was one problem. His brainwashing ability relied on spiritual connections and Korra has a pretty weak spiritual connection. Thus he hatched his plan to train her and bolster her spiritual connection enough that it'll be on the level that Korra will be brianwashable. That's pretty much what you see in this episode. At the start the spirits are only attacking ships and Korra's uncle arrives to speak about them with Korra at the festival. Then a spirit attacks Korra which convinces her she needs to be trained by her uncle. Then her father comes along and continuously argues with Korra's uncle so Korra's uncle decides to stage another spirit attack to make himself look good and his brother bad so Korra would send him away. All this training looks like one big set up. I bet all these spirit attacks are being staged by Korra's uncle. Every spirit attacks benefits him in some way. I bet the season is going to involve Korra's uncle conquering the world with a spirit or army or something along those lines. By the end by Korra being rescued by Tenzin and co. They then have her communicate with the first avatar or whoever and there she learns this deus ex machinima trick of how to free the spirits from brainwashing, Then Korra will turn all those spirits against her uncle and accept her father was right all along and then they'll live happily ever after. I just hopes there's more to it because I've seen this kind of plot several times.
