This is my reaction to a lot of anime, almost all of it, in fact. It's an art form that deeply confuses and frustrates me. Sincerely glad I realized how bad Avatar is before I wasted more time on it. imo it only really gets good at around book 2. Book 1 is honestly bad at the beginning, but gets a lot better.

Agreed, even as a fan, re-watching book 1 can be.. tiring. I think it originally was intended for small children and it's not until Book 2 they decide to change the tone a bit.

Korra & Bolin - ew Korra & Asami - too much fanfic already ![]() Korra & I'm going to stop there...but Mako is pretty awesome even if he does a few more than lame things. Give him some slack, he's a teenager!

s2e1 was shown at comic-con. Expect it to be thrown around the internet after the con closes for the day and Viacom to scramble to keep it down.

The first few episodes turned me off, and I could never fathom the hype (or why folks would say Airbender is better than Korra). But if it picks up, I could just start at book 2. You should totally watch Seige of the North though, it's one my favorite episodes in all of Avatar!
