And the fact that the show doesn't even remotely explain why she's so brain dead to the fact that the Avatar's job is more than just bending is testament to how little I buy the argument. People have been trying to teach Korra that she can't ignore her spiritual side, but she just doesn't listen. That's not getting a standard 16 years of development, that's just not listening to your elders like every other 16 year old out there. In other words, all of her training was centered around "Yes, you bend well, but that's not what the Avatar is all about you know. There's a spiritual side that you're ignoring." Korra goes "Yeah whatever." Then, when she actually loses that bending, she suddenly feels like the world owes her something because she's been ignoring the spiritual side all along and without even taking a single iota of effort to try to learn about the spiritual side, she's given instant gratification by Aang, who gives her back her Avatar powers even though she's barely done anything to deserve it. I dont remember much. Did she actually say her bending is what makes her a human?

The third part of "The Promise" was released Sept. 26th It's about the gap between the first Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra It also sets the way for Zuko's upcoming comic "The Search," about his journey to find his mother with Azula making an appearance. Good comic

Very enjoyable, gotta love the steampunk world. Also, the guy who tries to hit on Korra by being helpful and caring and bringing roses and shit gets rejected big time cuz there's this other guy who totally ignores her and is a douche in general but is handsome. Same old same old :D I'm glad i decided to watch this show

Kind of teared up at the conclusion, hope you guys did too. I can see why it was intended to end there, seemed perfect. Will check out the rest though. :D

Well, I read on wikipedia that it was originally conceived as just the 12 episodes. I was worried for a bit when Korra lost her bending, thinking we'd have to wait until the next book. I wasn't sure when the new books were announced and I wondered if they slightly changed the final episode into a cliffhanger. In the end, it was restored and she began realizing her avatar powers. Just seemed like a fitting way to end the 12 episodes, if indeed it they were to stop there.

So you're fine with Aang coming out of nowhere, giving Korra back her powers without her learning anything, and giving us no explanation how the hell any of this even happens?

This is my reaction to a lot of anime, almost all of it, in fact. It's an art form that deeply confuses and frustrates me. Sincerely glad I realized how bad Avatar is before I wasted more time on it.
