Hopefully this will let them pace the show a bit better, but I'm just glad to have more Avatar.

Really, you think that there is a show that would be stupid enough to duplicate the insanity that was Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya season 2? On July 12 2012 14:42 Lightwip wrote: In some ways it was more refined than the first season of TLA, but plot holes galore exist and everything moved too quickly. Despite all its issues, it was certainly enjoyable. Amon was pretty cool up until he was a waterbender. You mean + Show Spoiler + Bloodbender

Meh. I'm still not a fan of the mini series designation. 13 episodes is NOT enough for a good season/ plot arc.

Oh well. I have no expectations for Korra. That way, when I watch the next few seasons, I'll know to just turn off my brain like I did for Season One. zzz On July 13 2012 02:53 ticklishmusic wrote: My theory is that Noatok survived the explosion (unlike Tarrlock, he can waterbend) and will be back in some way in season 2. That is not the type of ending in which someone survives. Death is cheap, but not cheap in an emotionally charged suicide like that. That, or it would be a horrible plot choice.

A lot of people thoroughly enjoyed season one, even if you yourself did not like it. That is why people are excited.

http://www.hollywood.com/news/Comic_Con_Legend_of_Korra_Book_2_Spirit_Details_New_Characters/33795088 Team Avatar will travel to the Southern Water Tribe. They'll visit a festival with glowing lanterns that warm up the snowscape scenery. Beautiful. Korra will travel through a storm to find a glowing iceberg. Spirit world? The ice cave looks very reminiscent to the iceberg Aang was trapped in. We saw concept art of the Southern Air Temple. Inspired by Chinese art, it's a stone structure enhanced with yellow and orange skies, lush vegetation growing over it. Book 2 will explore the Spirit World and how the "Avatar" lineage began. Korra will travel into the spirit world and Konietzko hints that there may be episodes later in the season dedicated to exploring the bigger landscape of the Spirit World. Then we saw some new costumes. Korra will have new threads inspired by Mandarin, asymmetrical fashion. Mako and Bolin will get big, fluffy coats for the frozen tundra that maintain their color coordination (Mako loves that red scarf). Asami is now the head of her dad's Future Industries, so she's gone corporate! Luckily, she has an alternate costume, an airship look that makes her a double for Amelia Earhart. Book 2 will bump up Bumi, a fan favorite and brother of Tenzin, to a regular character. He's got a big potbelly which fits his wacky personality. His sister Kya will also be a regular player. Dubbed a hippie by "Konietzko," Kya's big into healing. Korra's expanded family will be introduced. The creators mentioned that Korra was inspired by MMA fighter Gina Carano, which explains her build. It also explains why her entire family is ripped. Book 2 called "Spirits" and takes place six months after Book 1. I am really excited and I would love to see more Bumi.

Too bad they weren't able to be told they would have 3 cours from the start, things may have been a lot better. Edit: OH SHIT LOL. So the 2nd season is gonna come on time, but an ADDITIONAL 26 episodes is coming? NICE Too bad they won't have 20 episodes a season, but I guess that's ok. They shouldn't need as much episodes per season than in TLA since TLA was the first series and thus they were allowed to spend more episodes/time to develop/establish the world. I wonder if they will tie in the first book into the later books. The creators must have expected they would be greenlighted to keep writing, right? So even though Book 1 was so wrapped up, I hope that it's still an important part of the whole series. Again I'm not doubting the writer's ability so I expect much. Either "real shit" begins after her learnings from Book 1, or Book 1's ending opens up the greater story, or such. I forgot actually that TLA only had 3 books, haha. So both series will have about the same episodes. ~60 to 52. I am not doubting that LoK will surpass TLA (though I know that many like TLA more and think LoK's ending is bad. Interesting, the books aren't gonna be named on elements. Cool. Hope they get to explore a lot more about the avatar history and stuff. There's a lot of story they can add to make the experience a lot better. I guess Book 1 was a good transition into this new series, by bridging the generation gap with the flashbacks and establishing Tenzin/Lin as respectable characters despite their age. This is gonna be good :D I wonder what the writers will do after Avatar. They love asian culture right? So I wonder if they will make another universe inspired by Asian culture, or something completely different. They might even take a "break" for a while, or do some kind of work in another medium of media. Or will they possibly create a third series in the Avatar universe as well?

Now they easily saw the widespread love for the small season 1, so they have easily decided that it is worth it to make following seasons full length at ~26 episodes rather than ~13. Looking forward to Book 2: Water

-Mako is now part of the police force -Korra's extended family includes her uncle and cousins. Her uncle's name is Unarock, and he just so happens to be the chieftain of the Northern Water Tribe -Bolin will be getting a love interest. -Bolin's the only one left on the Fire Ferrets, with Mako being a cop and Korra doing her Avatar stuff -There was a scene where Korra was racing the Airbender kids on their scooters around Air Temple Island and using the Avatar state to go faster, prompting Tenzin to get mad and yell at her. -Another scene where Korra is fighting against a spirit and uses her Avatar State to power up her fire and water bending Oh, and the BEST part about digging for all this stuff: Older Gaang poster (open image in new tab cause I don't know how to resize): + Show Spoiler + ![]()
