Bah wtf did I just watch. The zombies seem to be becoming less zombie like every fucking movie. WTF! SOVIET RUSSIAN ZOMBIES DRIVING VEHICLES! Honestly though... the story line was just dumb and I feel like they are trying to hard to copy the new Resident Evil video game formulas. Just stick to "The Walking Dead" Philosophy... Post apocalyptic more about survival.. Not some bullshit story line about a bunch of guys in leather jackets trying to do dumb stuff. I miss the days when the zombies were basically brain dead and could just wander around and waddle up to you. I find that a shit load more intriguing for some reason. | ||

When they said the name Leon my heart sank. Not him too  The final scene in the movie was by far the best in the whole thing, so sadly i'll have to go see the last movie. + Show Spoiler + Why was Wesker alive again? What happened to Chris Redfield? Why did the t-virus zombies have the mouth worms but the Los Plagas didn't.... Why did the Los Plagas infection turn the mexican chick into a kung fu monster? Why did the Los Plagas Russians attack the Los Plagas mexican chick? Why did the big face licker not kill the little girl? Almost certainly Red Queen didn't directly control the undead. I still don't get Red Queens twisted logic about killing everything. Why is Red Queen in control of ALL of Umbrella? Each base had a different queen (remember White Queen in 3?). Why didn't they just put that little spider mind control thing on Alice whil she was asleep? Leon lost 1v1 with as Los Plagas?! LOL ya right! Alice literally used the same automatic gun for 80% of the movie, which she had no backup clips for, and never once reloaded. Then you have a hundred or so badly done action cliche's. The fact that the Russian army of 100+ couldn't hit 5 guys standing basically out in the open (window was big), yet one of those guys dies to a CHAINSAW. Main character syndrome was in full effect in this game. MIght as well have just cloned 50 Jill Valentines to chase the people because clearly she can't die. In general they also made Umbrella seem too powerful. If you can create that many clones and you're wasting them on zombie simulations, when you have the information from the entire world to look at, you are not smart. Movie would have been less terrible if Wesker himself went to save Alice. I understand why he didn't though. Maybe we'll get to see him kick ass next movie. | ||

The random cameos from video game characters are annoying. That wasn't Leon. Ada looked the part, but that's about it that I could see. What happened to the Redfields? + Show Spoiler + I don't even know if that's the real Jill Valentine - she has those weird looking back connector things on her outfit. I thought the Red Queen was nuked with Racoon City? In any event, that would play hell with any communications links she could use to get out. As for Rain being a bad ass, Rain is in fact a bad ass even if she's cloned. Except for hippy Rain, which was still a good thing to see because Michelle Rodriguez has been playing bad asses for a long damn time and it's nice to see her able to smile and be a hippy. The Los Plagas virus is just silly. Alice's super powers are part of why the series kindof went wtf for me, but giving them back? I liked her better as a normal(ish) person. And ever since that train left in the first movie, they've just gone farther and farther from the video game. It's not quite "Ultraviolet" bad, but it's probably going to hit that level in the next movie. I'm not even sure that's the "original" Alice, given all the cloning going on. But I can be sure of one thing... Milla Jovovich will be naked at some point. | ||

And I did see an interesting point in a review - they've never had to retcon anything in the movies, because at the beginning of the next movie that super crazy thing that was in the last movie winds up getting erased, violently and all over the place. Of course, it did meet my minimum threshold for a movie of this particular type... Michelle Rodriguez played a bad ass, and Milla Jovovich was at one point mostly naked. Something she started in Fifth Element, and which I endorse. | ||

I'll agree with you on the mostly naked, but I don't like women who wear essentially a larger version of that blue paper crap they put on you at the dentist. They surely could have found sexier paper... Also, Jill Valentine looked much better as a brunette. | ||
