+ Show Spoiler + Why did rachel push him. Wasnt the whole point of the test just whether SHE would be able to advance or not. So if they fail the test now, the others still advance, what does she gain from this? And since ive already read that she continues being a character in the show that means it probably still counts as passing the test, so i just dont get why she would betray Bam NOW? I dont care about spoilers, explain pls

I don't know how faithful the intro was to the manhwa, but it gives the impression that Rachel just goes to the Tower and Baam follows her. What actually happened is that she opened the door to the Tower, as an irregular (we still don't know how she knew about the Tower and its insides and how she made it in), then Baam, not wanting to lose her, opened it too instinctually. (Short point: we don't know if personal power is required to be an irregular. They're special (and dangerous to the authorities/precious to whoever wants to oppose them) in that they aren't tied to the system and thus can use Shinsu without making contracts with the Guardians—eg. don't have to obey their restrictions. Baam is of course a special person on top of that peculiarity. But Rachel has never been shown as particularly strong, and her power-ups are basically stuff handed to her by other people.) Rachel hid when she heard that Baam was following her: Headon lied to him when he (it?) said she'd already started climbing. She views herself as the heroin of her own story and having Baam cling to her upsets her and scares initially. Headon also makes it clear that she's not special nor particularly skilled. There's a whole agreement then settled, where she'll receive help and be able to climb and get closer to her view of herself (and the top of the Tower) if she agrees to bait Baam. TL;DR Rachel doesn't care that much about Baam and is even freaked out by him, but people want to fetch him so they lent her help to climb in exchange for using Baam's obsession of her to lure him and pass him for dead, allowing said people to grab Baam and recruit him under a new identity, that wouldn't be under scrutiny as an irregular. For what it's worth, the manhwa started its devolution into full-blown shonen early during season 2, and a lot of things (such as contracts with Guardians) aren't touched upon or swept consistently under the rug for the rest of the story so far. SIU plans a lot and did a crapton of world-building but I'm not convinced some of the happenings (such as + Show Spoiler + Baam's ancestry where he and Rachel lived, as that was supposed to be inside the Tower itself (just the outer area) and Baam is more or less stated as coming back from outside the whole thing

Thanks, so she was told to do that. That actually sounds more interesting than ive thought. So i guess this is all planned by the coffee guy. Then the next episode will probably be about Rachels backstory and reveal that. I just wish they made the relation between administrators and the test officials more clear. I had to read wiki to figure that out, though maybe thats spoiler too and will come next season.

Most administrators are members of one of the 10 families or Jahad princesses (Evankhel is one of the few exceptions) so they serve as pseudo-intermediaries between Guardians and Jahad's kingdom/empire too.

https://www.reddit.com/r/manga/comments/n64l87/news_tower_of_god_resumes_on_may_17th/ I'm hoping SIU took the time to map out the story a bit more and make it more interesting rather than just keep it as a typical DBZ battle manga.

On a side note the hiatus was for health reasons, so not sure how much Siu had time to plan. Hope he's fine.

+ Show Spoiler + Really hope White fucks off now. And I don't see a reason for Baam to keep climbing with his pals. He's too strong now and it's better he makes a new team. Let the old team climb by themselves, maybe even have a couple of arcs focused on them.

That being said fights are still super boring, just mass explosions. When + Show Spoiler + White vs Baam went into the second round Overall I think it still suffers from years of bad direction, but it's now moving in a better one. If it stays the way it is right now I'm fine with that.

I'm also clearly only reading it ouf of habit anymore because there hasn't been any decent rhythm or pacing to the story since much, much before SIU's break, and it looks like he's been destroying his wrists to... draw pretty explosions that take more space than the screen so you can't take them in anyway, and most importantly don't bring anythin to the chapters?

The fight was pretty sloppy. + Show Spoiler + Baam was supposedly extremely serious, but had three more powerups he could have used and just decided not to do so, use the move that never does jack and got wrecked badly. Also I thought Black hole was supposed to be damaging to everyone and basically unguardable? White didn't even look hurt. Anything with water dragon is basically the Katon of ToG. But I don't really see rhyme or reason anyways in ToG fights and it's been like that for a long time.
