I thought the last (free) chapter was a really well done time skip. I still love this webcomic and am excited to see what happens in the future.

I'm even more excited to see how the anime is, though.

Did Siu reveal how much he collaborates with the anime production? I hope this doesn't take away his ability to write a good storyline by stretching his time with 2 things. It was very similar to the Naruto Author where for a period of time the anime caught up too quickly and he had to do fillers.

Technically speaking, unless you involve Adori or one of the 10 knuckleheads, this is about as elite as it gets in terms of forces. This is an endgame level threat. I'm glad to see that we've finally reached the point where the main characters actually matter in the grand scheme of things and aren't some inconsequential insects.

It's the first real end game level threat, not the entirety of it. I don't think the threat of all FUG coming out even at this point is enough to draw out Jahad himself. if the 2 house leaders and lo po bia branch can't subdue FUG, then we will see. The slayers aren't as powerful as i'd imagine they would be. Yama's power was kinda scaled-down because of the fact he has a genetic counter. The other slayer is a coward, the one that shoots arrows. I really want to see if the fact FUG has been hiding to plan or that FUG has been hiding out of necessity and survival, it's seeming like the latter.

Yama is a slayer, the bowman is an elder, which is different. Elders are executives, slayers are high-level fighters who're supposed to fight with the 10 family leaders by the end of it.

although karaka has never seemed powerful enough for that, he didn't even seem nearly as powerful as yuri jahad
so I think he's gonna need to hit the gym for a while if he's going to fight with any of the 10 leaders

Tbf Karaka is explicitly new to being a slayer.

Also Bowman seems to be at least as strong as Yama, he just feels betrayed by what he thought was his biggest trump. But he seems to be a pretty beasty fighter if he decides to fight.

And yes IIRC barring the leader of FUG no other FUG member is even in the top 20 of the rankers. So they need some top rankers/family leaders to defect to even have a fighting chance.

Ostensibly, there's something unique about each Slayer that makes them special from, say, the Elders. They have some method of growth or power that's unique in the Tower. White has his soul eating, which presumably gives him near infinite growth potential so long as he doesn't run into someone who can trump his spell. Yama obviously has his transformation ability (though he got gimped by some hereditary control power that Yasratcha has). And Karaka...well, we don't really know what's going on with Karaka's weird shadow ball body and metal bits. I assume it's some kind of Lich/Phylactery situation.

And then there's Baam, Slayer candidate who's probably already strong enough to go ahead and get the slayer promotion with his myriad unique power ups and irregular status.

I'd say that's more due to Siu trying to give people different unique powers (which would be cool if battles weren't just explosions).
On the flipside a slayer is supposed to be someone who hopefully slays Zahard, so it only makes sense that they either are very strong or at least have the potential to become very strong.

Baam is overall tough to rate since he seems to be much much more powerful if he just stabs himself with everything. The train station fight seemed to suggest that a full masochist Baam is more powerful than Evankhell or at least has more offensive power. In that regard he's probably ready to become a full slayer.

That being said I really hope they introduce some drawback to stabbing yourself with a legendary blade or a magic amplifier that doubles as a power plant, because that's the kind of thing that should come with a drawback.

The first episode was alright. It felt a bit rushed though. It seemed like they didn't let any scene breathe and were just eager to get on to the next one. Also the music choice was strange since it seemed like they were jumping in between different music genres like some bipolar meth junkie.

I've got mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, they're handling TOG's pacing issues very well. This will be great later on when they get to the fights which seem to drag on forever. On the other hand, you never get a chance to chew the scenery so all of the dialogue scenes will be rushed through.

As for the latest chapter... just a bunch of pointless fighting. No one of any importance is actually dying so it's just of bunch of dry humping with no followup. I really wish SUI would just grow some balls.

Feels so weird that they are flying to a wall flying in the air and then get surprised by people 10 meters away from them. Like where were Dowon and Kallavan hiding? Kallavan has a huge flame coming out of his hand and noticeably warps the air around him! Maybe just park the ship closer to the wall next time.

It's a classical superpower shonen problem, this scene would make much more sense in a contained environment. Like there's a space port with locked gates, Baam jumps through the fleet in front of the port and tries to get into the gatehouse. He lands the ship in a mini-spaceport, runs through 2 corridors to get to the sealed area that opens the gate into the arms of Kallavan and Dowon. Kallavan makes his "you are so predictable" speech and he'd be right. Everyone would still be in character.

Instead Baam wants to punch a hole into the wall of China and Kallavan and Dowon pinpointed the exact spot where he wants to punch, two people who are the noble warrior stereotype and a girl who ... seems not very smart so far.

Also Cha to Dowon: "Why are you fighting for Jahad?" We all want to know.

Then again I'm proud of Evankhell, she actually killed someone. She also seemed pretty badass in the flashback.

Second episode feels much better now that they dropped the weird trailer before OP. Pace is still fast, but unfortunately it is needed to cover first season in 13 episodes. Hopefully the skipped information is covered in some degree later and episodes will get better overtime. The OP and ED are really weird visually, like something is missing when there is not content showing things that could be expected later in series. I really hope that this opens the gates for manhwas so that great series like Kubera can get animated.
