To me, it looks as though her scarf is too tight and this is causing her head to expand to be abnormally large. It's even making her see stars. She'll probably lose consciousness soon :p

But AJ is the most adorable pony. She has been shown as a mare, a filly and a baby (I don't know the correct term for that). Plus, she's an orphan (I assume so anyway). The show is clearly trying to make everyone realise she is the most adorable
