Don't tell me why you favorite is better than all the others, tell be why you love it so much. Also this could go the way of having 3 people write essays and then that's it, but dialogue is fun! Let's have fun discussion, whether its learning about an awesome new perspective or fangasming with someone else who likes the same artist as you. In Smile I noticed that Pinkie Pie uses her left hoof a lot more (to wave or point for example), thus it would make her lefthooved. In some scenes she uses her right hoof though, so probably it's just an animation thing. I kinda had to think about this right from the beginning where she waves at both ponies with her left hoof. For further reference I use this video + Show Spoiler + 0:28: She steps forward with her left leg 1:28: She uses her left hoof for the thinking pose 1:49: She turns around raising her left leg (well since she was turning counter clockwise it has to be this way) 1:57: She also raises her left leg 2:35: She uses her right leg though 2:59: Also right leg 3:12: Also right one So yeah, probably it's all just caused by the animation style, since they usually just flip around the characters all the time, yet I still had to ponder about it. Edit: Even in the first picture in the topic here she raises her left | ||

When dealing with ONLY this song though, I actually think this point isn't about right hoofedness OR left hoofedness. Because there is one consistent thing throughout the video. The extended leg is ALWAYS away from the camera. Here are my thoughts on that. I think the reason is two-fold, there is an animation reason and a personality/context reason. The animation reason seems obvious, they use the far leg so that there is less pony being covered up by the moving limb. Its a nice technique that kind of makes the body more full and integrated into the motion. Now the second point may not be entirely correct, but this is how I interpreted it. Given the nature of the song and the general personality of Pinkie Pie, they decided to sue the far limb to make here charter seem more open and inviting, it seems like a subtle 'hug' gesture based solely on body language. When someone is about to embrace you they leave their arms wide open in an intimate act of letting down their guard, which to some extent I think she is doing. I think this is the case here mostly because of the context. The song is about making everypony happy. It's about Pinkie Pie going out of her way to improve others' lives with cheer and joy. The entire song has an aura of positive energy and social comfort. The body language resulting from always having this subtle 'embrace' stance adds to that fact immensely. And of course, its pinkie pie. She's always there to make you happy. If the motif of the song wasn't enough to prove give you a joyous feeling than the motif of Pinkie's entire high intensity personality should be. Well, that's all I have for now. What does anyone else think? I admit I might be looking a bit too deep, but I think I'm still safe here. A lot of top tier animation is about the subtle body language so I actually think it was intentional for both these reasons. | ||

I like art that's really show-accurate with a touch of added realism to it, kind of like the stuff I commissioned Saur to do as well as most of JJ's better works. When it comes to comics, I like Dan Vs FIM, since it's 100% show accurate. While I haven't read much fanfiction, I like dark/adventure stuff, but there's nothing wrong with Circle of Friends or My Little Dashie either. I'm writing a dark epic fic, so I guess that's my absolute favourite. Saving this one for last for obvious reasons. I really can't say enough about this sect of the community. I really can't. The TL brony community is why I've done many of the things I've done in my life over the past six months or so, and they've been some of the best six months I've ever had. For that, I can't thank you guys enough. I'm on IRC all day every day, I spend hours chatting with various people, and I'd like to think that I've made some great new friends in my tenure here. It's really thanks to this community that I've discovered that I'm actually capable of writing something. If it weren't for the encouragement and great feedback I received when I started my project so long ago, I'd never be where I am now. <3 | ||
