I appreciate show-accurate art, but what I really prefer is the more unique, artsy stuff. I think it's really cool when an artist can take a character or situation and put an interesting spin on it, or do it in an awesome stylized manner. Also, I love pretty much any picture that can convey mood. When I can look at a piece and immediately feel what the scene is like... that's something special. Sometimes simple strokes of color are all that are needed, and what's really important is the atmosphere and color choice. She was there when I first got my pony shirts for Christmas (Re: Christmas post) so she is as aware as a 5 year old can be. She said to me "Hey Adam, today I watched My little pony!" To which I replied "Me too!" ... :O The look on her face was glorious. It was a wonderful mix of confusion and amazement, her jaw literally dropped. How could someone like me, her big cousin (a GUY no less) watch this show? She probably can't fathom that I like the show more than she does. I'm pretty sure for a split second I broke her. Of course the attention span of a child quickly took over and she went back to playing after about 3 seconds, but man. Fuckin' priceless. Breaking gender roles one kid at a time . | ||

All of them, repeat all of them, are under the age of 10, so they fall under the *correct* age demographic for My Little Pony. And all of them did the EXACT same thing your cousin did Camail. But I got to experience it 6 times over 'Cept not all of them are under the *correct* gender demographic for My Little Pony. One of my cousins is a boy. He is your typical 8 year old kid. He loves playing video games (Pokemon and SSBB being his favorites), has wild fantasies of blowing up things as a giant mecha and will take any chance to run around and play. A movie is cool if it has explosions for him. Yet, I recently found out from my aunt that he spends every saturday morning rushing over to the computer and going to the Hub website (apparently they have the episodes up on their website on launch day?) and watching the newest episode. She (my aunt) said to me, "He just loves My Little Pony. He thinks the animation and the things they do on the show are just hiliarious." I replied by saying, half mockingly, "What have I done? *anguish*." It's pretty frikkin' cool, how this little guy just goes up to me during family gatherings and asks, "Have you seen the newest episode yet? Wasn't it awesome?" I mean, talk about breaking gender roles. What have I done? | ||
