Oh my god. I saw this in the side bar and thought "What the hell is a my little pony thread doing on tl?"
I started reading it and thought "This has to be the most elaborate troll I've ever seen."
But out of curiosity, I started watching.
And now... I can't stop! I've watched almost every episode of the first season so far. Fluttershy is just so... damn... CUTE! I fell in love with her in the very first episode when she first meets Twilight. And I think I squealed like a little girl when she cheered for Rainbow Dash in that Sonic Rainboom episode.
I would feel emasculated, but meh. I've got enough testosterone, and I can appreciate a good cartoon when I see one.

Welcome! I'm always happy to see a new face. You should hop on by our IRC channel, #tlponies, when you get the chance. There's always a decent number of people to talk to. If you liked the first season, you'll love the second! There's also usually about 40-50 of us watching the new episodes each Saturday on live streams. It's quite an experience if you're able to be around at 7 AM PST on those days.
i remember when i was a kid watching this against my will at my girl friends place! It was pure torture til i actually forced to like it LOL the song has damaged my head so much. Something that would be epic if they "re-made" it would be DR SNUGGLES for sure! that's some real cartoon epic stuff for oldah boyz!
I bet my sisters daughter would love this cartoon maybe i should download some for her! Shes usually into Hello Kitty tho!

Just saying, you weren't watching this, you were watching MLP g1, g2 or g3. If it was Friendship is magic you wouldnt have to force yourself into liking it!
Everyone talks about EurobeatBrony, but why does no one talk about these improvements? It's like, improving the whole idea.
EDIT: I love EurobeatBrony's work, and it was obviously the foundation for these remixes of his remixes. Remixception. I just don't know why these pieces of vocal awesome are so overlooked in favor of the ones without voices.
EDIT: I'm also aware that there are many Youtubers who do vocalized remixes...these are just the ones I like best.

This cartoon (G4) is perfectly watchable by adults. The cartoon you are referring to (G1-3) was not, it was shallow and bland. If you watched that as a kid, give this one a try and see how much it has improved.
The songs are equally catchy but a lot better composed.
This was my brothers Christmas gift from his girlfriend, other then it looking slightly not G4 ish its pretty fucking cool also Archie V has now started working "with a big record label" he said he will continue releasing pony remixes for free, its pretty cool seeing a pony music producer (maybe) make it big

Hi and welcome to the thread! We're glad you've gotten so much enjoyment out of the show. For a lot of us, it's the kind of thing you can watch at the end of the worst week of your life and still come out smiling at the end of the episode. Plus, it's just so damned fun.
Drop by any time. This thread usually gets the best of the fan art and pony related music and videos. Heck, drop by our IRC and say hi if you have time. We're a chill group and we always like talking to new people!
Simply appreciating a good cartoon is the only secret behind why this show is popular. As long as you get over the initial stigma surrounding the previous generations of the show (alternating between fairly bland and completely horrible), there's really nothing there to hate.

Oh sure. I'd recommend this show for little girls also. It's clearly made with adults in mind, but there's a lot of positive messages in there, life lessons and the like, that children could get a lot out of.
Would anypony be willing to try some sort of TLPonies group pencil and paper RPG?
We just came off the tail end of a discussion about the mane six and what traditional RPG statistics they represent, along with their classes, and it occurred to me that a group DnD session among us would probably be something very fun to do.
There are a lot of things we would need to decide - what game are we playing? Are we houseruling ponies in, or are we just playing it the way it was intended to be played? Supplemental rulebooks? Who's going to DM for us? What time? How many people? etc.
Just tossing the idea out there in case anypony's interested. I brought it up on IRC, and there was a decent amount of initial response.
A lot of people on the IRC have not played pencil-and-paper RPGs before or haven't played them in a long time, so this will be a learning experience for everypony.
If we can find a time that works overseas I'd love to try. Never played it before, only experience with DnD is through stuff like Baldurs Gate 2 (awesome) and just stuff you pick up over the internet.
