Pathfinder is more complicated than 4th edition, but offers larger room for non-combat interaction with NPCs, and has a lot more character customization. Considering the number of players we have that have not done a pencil-and-paper RPG before, this option may be a little less friendly in that regard.
4th edition is simpler and newer. A lot of mechanics in 4th edition mirror that of traditional modern MMORPGs, so it's relatively easy to understand and get into, at the cost of deeper roleplay mechanics and lower character customization. 4e also has more support as far as online tools to play it are concerned.
I'll leave the choice up to you. Ideally, if you're interested, please post with your previous experience in either of these two rulesets so I can come up with a list of possible DMs. I have less experience in Pathfinder than I do in 4th edition, personally.
I think Pathfinder is the better game IMO, but 4E is easier to learn for newbies.
For the record, I have over 10 years of pencil and paper RPG experience.
There is a complete Savage Worlds Ruleset for MLP around somewhere, let me see if i can find it. Savage Worlds is at the moment my favorite PnP system, especially for beginners, since it is not very complicated, but very much fun.

never watched never will~
i do approve of the patronage for horses though
And here I was about to proclaim you the greatest PR writer of all time and that could ever be. But wait, I sense the presence of another. One far stronger.
Looks like Plexa wins again!
However, I will consider it a tie if you watch the show. Until then...
even though Pinkie isn't exactly my most favourite from the mane cast, still looking very forward to this to cool down after preparing so nervously for my exams
Lots and lots of laughter and d'aww was had. Perhaps not the best episode continuity-wise, but damn if it wasn't entertaining. Also, imba ninja babies.
It felt like we've seen babies getting on babysitter's nerves situation in many other cartoons before with similar gags so that got old really fast here for me. Also the babies being able to fly while Scootaloo can't, and them being just so "overpowered", kinda didn't make much sense.
Perhaps I'm just a bit too judgemental right now since I got a lot on my mind and so the "d'aww effect" didn't work on me either, and like I said earlier, Pinkie isn't one of my favourites from the mane cast, but still I expected more from this, especially from the writer of such amazing episodes as Suited For Success, May The Best Pet Win and Look Before You Sleep.
edit: on the plus side, the Amnesia-esque sequence was cool
Well this is the first episode that i didnt really like. It was not horrible, but those kind of stressed-babysitter episodes are in every show and they annoy me every time. just no fun for me :/ well, im sure the next one is gonna be better
