Now why would you wish such a thing, my good sir? Have you taken the time to check this out for yourself, or are you merely expressing unfounded, albeit understandable, knee-jerk reactions? The sheer amount of incredible awesome spawned from this thread alone, let alone the fandom and the show itself as a whole cannot be described in a concise manner, so I'm not going to bother to try. Take an honest gander at this if you have the time. I promise the worst that'll happen is you'll be neutral towards the show by the end of it.

Things that only exist in 4chan are generally odd and usually in poor taste. The fact that this has such a large thread on TL (!!!) should be more than enough proof that MLP is not some troll's joke. As Gary suggested, give it an honest try and see how you honestly feel about it or if you honestly don't think you can muster the testicular fortitude to spend 20 minutes watching a cartoon, don't bother coming back :D
Yay, thanks for all the new wallpapers! I have them switch at every 10 seconds, so the more I have, the better! Also, here are some of my favorites: (First time I'm posting pictures O.o)
So, I'm mainly more of a lurker here at TL, but I have a question for everyone here. I've watched episodes 7-14 with my wife, and we do both like the show and plan to watch the rest, but one thing I don't quite get is why it has such a devote following. I mean, it's a great show, but it's not like it's the best show to ever exist or something. Except for Joss Whedon shows, you usually don't see such fan followings for tv shows- why do you think this show is such an exception? Thank you
And sorry if there are like, 30 articles written on this already, I guess I just mainly found stuff on why it's popular (because it's great, which I already know and agree with) as opposed to why it specifically has such a following.
Frit, I completely understand. I was like that when I first started watching this show. The more you watch the more you love this show. It took me a few weeks of watching to become a brony, but now I love this show. Learning to love the characters and the community takes time, but that's why we are so devoted. It's very rare that people become bronies overnight.

The style of the show inspires a lot of fan content (art, music, comics, animations). The Equestria Daily blog has new stuff several times a day. So you can spend a lot of time on it, everyone finds an area they like.
For me, most of the music on my MP3 player is pony fanmusic of all genres.

Think it's fueled a lot by how judgmental others often are of your hobbies. How often have you heard you should quit something you like because you're too young/ too old/ a boy/ a girl/ white/ black/ asian or it's not "cool" enough. With bronies it's somehow different. Their hate only fuels our passion. Haters gonna hate, let's post some fukken ponies!
I really hope they have another Fluttershy episode soon... one of my favorite episodes by far is "Green is not your Colour" just because it's focused on fluttershy, and on her being shy. The most recent episode didn't even have her in it!
I thought it was similar too, but I couldn't find it on his DA so I thought it was just stylistically similar, and was happy that I had found someone as talented as JJ. Oh well, I'll go with "no idea", added to my rarity collection, naturally
