I am devasted, cynical as it may sound his passing is literally the first time a celebrity death has made me cry. Berserk means the world to me and has helped through some really rough times. Rest in peace Miura-sensei.

To be fair, I don't really know where the series could have gone anyways. Guts accomplished what he wanted - restoring Casca. Now I guess he would want to kill Griffith, but he can't really since he's a god. Basically he would need to find a way to target the God Hand. It probably has something to do with the previous God Hand and what happened to them? Some kinda ritual maybe? IDK, I feel like whatever ending we would have gotten would just have been disappointing, especially since Miura basically lost interest in the series. We're at a good stopping point now anyways, so a headcanon ending could be that Guts just retired on the elf island.

With the brand Guts and Casca are still destined to suffer an eternity in the Vortex of Souls, I suppose you could headcanon it cannot drag them if they die at Elfheim. Femto is also vulnerable now he has a physical body, could definitely see Slan betray the Godhand since she uniquely to them kept her human feelings and is gushing over Guts.

Thanks for posting this.

I was sad since the last time Gutz had a direct conversation with Griffith was 2001. That's 20 years, and Miura leaves this world with a cliffhanger D:

Hopefully the manga continues, but I'm just glad I got to see at least the world that was created.

Nice, hopefully the release schedule will pick up again. Miura wasn't really interested in Berserk anymore but I'm sure his assistants will be eager to prove themselves and pick up the pace of drawing the manga.
