Tommen barely bats an eye during that lecture. I mean, as far as he knows, Robert was his father. That exchange felt a little off. Well, also remember that Robert was never a father to any of Cersei's kids. They probably just knew him as "my father the king" and saw him at special events. And in the books, Tommen was like 7 or something when Robert died, so he barely knew him at all even when he was around.

Him, and CatfooD. sumsaR uses stuff from the show only, so it's possible he's just a really avid fan, and knows what he's talking about. It's true that the trial by combat bit isn't hard to figure out when you put together Tyrion's history from the past seasons, what we know of Oberyn since the first episode, and mostly the combat scenes from the teaser. CatfooD however, repeatedly used names that are from the books only. For example, he made a poll that dubbed Ser Dontos as "Florian", which is what he was tied to in the books due to the Florian the Fool song that Sansa loves so much. This has NEVER been mentioned in the show, ever. No show watcher would be able to come up with that. That, and a few other posts/book-exclusive names all point to him being a book reader stirring the thread toward somewhat subtle spoilers.

I think the “butterfly effect” that I have spoken of so often was at work here. In the novels, Jaime is not present at Joffrey’s death, and indeed, Cersei has been fearful that he is dead himself, that she has lost both the son and the father/ lover/ brother. And then suddenly Jaime is there before her. Maimed and changed, but Jaime nonetheless. Though the time and place is wildly inappropriate and Cersei is fearful of discovery, she is as hungry for him as he is for her. The whole dynamic is different in the show, where Jaime has been back for weeks at the least, maybe longer, and he and Cersei have been in each other’s company on numerous occasions, often quarreling. The setting is the same, but neither character is in the same place as in the books, which may be why Dan & David played the sept out differently. But that’s just my surmise; we never discussed this scene, to the best of my recollection. Also, I was writing the scene from Jaime’s POV, so the reader is inside his head, hearing his thoughts. On the TV show, the camera is necessarily external. You don’t know what anyone is thinking or feeling, just what they are saying and doing. If the show had retained some of Cersei’s dialogue from the books, it might have left a somewhat different impression — but that dialogue was very much shaped by the circumstances of the books, delivered by a woman who is seeing her lover again for the first time after a long while apart during which she feared he was dead. I am not sure it would have worked with the new timeline. That’s really all I can say on this issue. The scene was always intended to be disturbing… but I do regret if it has disturbed people for the wrong reasons. (source)

Whether it was the right call is a debate I don't give two hoots about. I always thought Jaime's "redemption" arc was too little, too late anyway. The two quotes are not mutually exclusive in the slightest. All book talk aside, the director wanted to film a scene where what starts as nonconsensual sex [Jaime/Cersei rape stuff] changes into consensual sex. That clearly didn't happen.

The only thing that we need to remember is that there are big spoilers in the season trailers, like Oberyn vs The Mountain, so it's not impossible to put things together with the current situation but yeah.. kick his ass :D

You could also argue it took some convincing. While it may have started out as our modern definition of rape, it seemed to become consensual after a while. @sumsaR from the other thread. Yeah, that guy is definitely reading the books. Nothing about that scene was consensual, Cersei kept saying "no" while Jaime was being overly aggressive until they cut to the next scene.
