Cause it killed it for me. I will only read the last books only out of curiosity now, honestly I think the books suck. If you dislike the undead so much, perhaps you should have stopped reading after the prologue of GoT, no? It's not like that dude rofl. I mean about the cheap trick he used to bring back a dead character, cause he said in an intereview it was hard for him to kill cat/rob. It totally killed the immersion for me, the writer can not do stuff like that. Just because a character was difficult to kill does not mean they were PnJ'd into resurrection because they were difficult to kill. Berric was the first character brought back and we knew absolutely nothing about him. UnCat serves a purpose. He didn't just resurrect her on a whim. Ofc he did, that's why he's grrm and not homer or dante. He just needs uncat to finish some business(taking revenge for the whole stark family cause it's gonna be a long time before arya's time comes) and he couldn't find a better way to do it. We clearly aren't reading the same book series. Either that or you are just a troll.
I see you are not a fun of colloqui or you really think grrm is one of the finest writers our species has to offer.

There were people "predicting" Theon will be flayed in season 2 ffs, and so far he has been tortured, but no flaying has been shown. He did get his finger flayed, before he asked for it to be cut off. It is never said that he is being flayed in the show, and it is also not shown. All you see is Ramsay cutting his finger with a knife, then the camera goes back to Theons face. Without advance knowledge you would not know that he is cutting the skin off Theons finger.

There is less than a seconds where you can see Ramsay grab the top part of the finger and pull it down. Before that he is just cutting into it.
Anyway without knowing about flaying how would you know immediately what is happening there. Or, to come back to my original post, how would you know what is happening there ONE YEAR AGO during season 2.

When anyone else was reading ADwD did they feel like George was just really really hungry for the first 200 or so pages? All the characters are starving, eating humans, etc.

All the characters are starving, eating humans, etc. Eating humans was a reoccurring theme in ADwD. There are plenty of references to it, some more subtle and speculative then others. Too many to list but Bran, Skagosi, Freypie, Drogon, Stannis-men and many more.

Ive never seen anything close to resembling how gruesome that scene was (or is in my head, i suppose.)
I knew exactly what they were doing, peeling back the skin on his finger and leaving the bone.
Definitely able to identify they arent just cutting it off.

its in your head I guess. I mean sure it was disgusting and hard to watch but we all have our ''troubling cinema moment''
for my exgf it was reservoir dogs when the guy gets his ear chopped off. for me I guess there are a few but the log between the ankles in Misery is still a gruesome memory to this day, even if I know it isnt that realistic or that bad lol.
for my mother it was in the Exorcist movie in the scene where the girl does a full 360 with her head... so yeah, to each his own gruesome scene.

I'm liking these changes. No idea where they're going with Talissa's pregnancy.
Oh and uh.. seeing as how GRRM wrote this episode, I guess we have a more definitive answer regarding Margery's maidenhood.

This was GRRM's episode for the season? In that case I guess book readers may have gotten some major stuff spoiled this week.

I think it means 100% that Talisa will die at the Red Wedding and that Jeyne won't become a more prominent character in the books.
It is what it is, but I don't think they can have her survive to have a child as that would be way too huge of a deviation from the books.

So the rw is next episode, or the one after that?

It's in two episodes.

There were a couple things that a couple of people are going to "predicting" what they mean that were said, I'm sure.
It was a fantastic episode though. That entire Margery/Sansa scene was just the most awkward thing ever.

I can't really say this in the other thread where it belongs because it is portrayed somewhat differently in the show than in the books, but Daenerys was definitely not raped by Drogo in the books on their honeymoon night.
It's made clear he asks her if she wants to do it and she gives a horny "yes" response after he's aroused her with massages. It's very clearly not rape from her PoV perspective in the book.
Anyways, I really liked all the plot and character development this episode. I'm just a bit sad about Stannis missing another episode, especially this one, because I feel like his character needed it the most at this point.

Also, am I the only one who noticed that this episode was just the king of foreshadows? People are saying this episode is boring and shit but it's necessary. It's all building up. Soon....
This is the episode GRRM wrote too so it's not surprising.

Hey guys, did they assassinate anyone's character this week?

Well they somehow managed to make Shae even more unlikeable.

To me it wasn't clear they were flaying it though. There's a difference between taking off all the flesh and flaying as well.
