I think it's such a major event that gives a lot of backstory to current events in Westeros, and right now the viewers who didn't read the books know very little about who Rhaegar was, what Lyanna meant to him, how this will tie into Jon Snows possible 'destiny' etc.
And I would love to see Ned Stark and Howland Reed going against Ser Gerold Hightower, the White bulld, and Arthur Dayne, the Morning sword.
Absolutely. The book gradually builds on the past events leading up to Robert's Rebellion and the differing perspectives everyone presents regarding the war. This has been almost entirely absent from the show. I've been a lot less nickpicky on stuff that's been left out of the show compared to most, but this is something I feel is too significant to not be properly addressed.
Main reason being when they introduce Dorne (probably in season 4), and especially Oberyn. It's going to hard to properly develop that character if the viewers don't have a good understanding of the sack of King's Landing and Elia's murder. Brief dialogue won't cut it given that Oberyn's eventual death and those past events serve as a gateway into the story of the Martells later down the road.

Most people seem to have really like the Dany part at the end, but I thought it was a little overly dramatic. Especially the scene when she's just standing there with the dragon flames exploding across the screen in the background. Seemed very... anime-ish.
I never read the books, but I don't mind spoilers. Just from watching the show, I'm quite confused by the whole Dany thing overall. The slaver guy didn't do anything bad to her aside from calling her bitch which is understandable since he didn't know she could speak the language. Isn't it sort of a dick move to fool some guy into selling you an army and then using the army to kill his people and sack his city?
Also, why did the unsullied still follow her when she dropped the whip? Aren't they pretty much programmed to not even understand freedom and to take orders from whomever holds the whip?

Being a slaver by itself is something bad in her mind, the way he raises the soldiers make it even worse. I haven't watched this episode, but the point of that scene should be that they are not just machines programmed to take orders, they are humans that can choose to follow Dany even if she drops the whip.

Reek, Reek it rhymes with meek.
I wonder how they will heavily make-up Theon or make him wear an iron mask to hide his identity or will we just know Reek = Theon...

@B1nary well that slaver (named "Kraznys mo nakloz) kinda had it coming, since he made the unsullied kill babies and because he was a awful slaver.
The unsullied followed her because she set them free, she saved them and since they don't know anything else besides being unsullied they are now her army.

From the last scene it looks like Dany is going to invade Westeros in a matter of few episodes, yet it still will be like 4 seasons? Or maybe never, considering Martins never ending stretching story telling after Storm of Swords. I remember when i was reading GoT couple of years ago and reading how winter is coming. It's been 17 years since the release and still no winter and no important activity of White Walkers and Wights.

Dany was a "slave" all her life. First to her brother, then to Drogo. Then she heard the slaver describe the terrible things they do to slaves being trained to become Unsullied (also a lot of them die become becoming one). It is a terrible evil that she could not just stand around and watch. Unlike most other characters with power in this world, Dany actually has some compassion.

Watch start of episode when they fly over all important places and then watch careful when they move from Westeros to Astapor. It is very, very far away.

They're following their Mhysa.
She asks them to follow her as free "men" and says that they are all free to leave if they wish. By staying put they all choose to join her. As for what is going through their heads, they pretty much have the mind of a 5-year-old so it would stand to reason that they'd just attach themselves to their new owner since they have always known being bossed around. I think the whip was included for the viewer as a symbol of the unsullied's slave status, and she drops it to symbolically show the viewer that Dany is not interesting in having slaves.

My friend is convinced she is the next Mad king Aerys, and she needs to be killed. She is controlled by emotion, is moody, kills people left and right. Jumps into fire and wants to rule Westeros with an army over sea.

She does need to be killed, she's needed to be killed since Drogo died and her plans went to shit.
Alas, she has impenetrable plot armor and cant be killed till she at least interacts with some of the other PoVs. If GRRM killed her now the past 3 books worth of dany chapters would have been for nothing. I mean, thousands of pages of boring, never-ending stories that are pretty much completely separate from all the other PoVs. killing her off will just make readers even more mad cause they had to bear though it for nothing (it may as well have been a stand-alone book). at least Viserys didn't pretend to give a shit about people and was upfront about being a dick.

She is not going to be killed, the series will end with her marrying her half-brother Jon Snow (well, technically she is his aunt, but half-brother sounds cooler) and ruling over all civilization, etc in a Hollywood ending. Song of Ice and Fire, yeah GRRM really is that transparent. The real mystery is who all will die along the way.

He left his wife and 2 kids for Lyanna.
If he was honorable, he'd probably be king now because Robert and Ned would have had no reason to rebel.
From what people tell of Rhaegar, he was a good guy, who over time became a fanatic obsessed with a prophecy and wanted a 3rd kid for the "dragon has 3 heads". Seems like a Targ to me.

All we know is that Dany will be riding Drogon over the Trident fighting the wight-king, if that vision in the House of the Undying comes true like the other ones. She couldn't see the riders of Viserion and Rhaegal. And Jon Snow being Rhaegar's son is just a theory with popularity because oh he's Jon Snow and the internet just looooooooooooves him. He doesn't have to be Rhaegar's son to be Azor Ahai reborn, which he probably is. There's no guarantee that Dany will survive the battle or the aftermath. It's pretty flippant to just go "yeah GRRM really is that transparent" because he isn't.

If he didn't do what he did, Targaryans would lose even more badly. Most powerful lords were marrying their children to each other and then would move to remove Targaryans from the throne.
