If they would be decomposing this fast, they would eventually just collapse under their own weight and the whole zombie crisis would simply vanish one day. yeah I wonder why they never tried to move north and spend the winter there. would zombies still be alive after unthawing?
Well it's stuff like this that would kinda make the comics/shows bland I guess because surely they would just melt away into nothing eventually

Possibly, according to world war z(which i think are the most like out of all the series to the walking dead zombies) they freeze and stay preserved for many many years, why places like greenland and iceland are still completely infested. Also depending on if they are frozen in places out of the sun they'd deteriorate less slowly.

Swine flu: Saving shows from poor acting one person at a time.
At least that's my interpretation of the whole pig thing.

I really wish they'd hit the road again or something. There's only so many more boring episodes in that damned prison that I can take...

You're forgetting, that everybody is infected. It will probably never end. Yes. But it is more than likely that a vast majority of people got infected/killed all at once very early on, due to being surprised by the new disease. So let's say within one month, 80% of the population got killed/turned into zombies. That would mean during one month in the future, these 80% of zombies would die of decomposition. That would significantly lower the threat of zombies. Sure they would still exist, but people would know about it and be able to deal with it.
So yes, it would never end, but it would become more than manageable.

I fell asleep half-way through the episode, really underwhelming for a first episode.

Probably would never end because everytime someone dies, there should be a brain bashing procedure.
Even rick's daughter would be a zombie if she dies which would fast forward it to say a good 60-70 years if she reaches retirement.
Basically, all future generations would become soon undead when they die. Even Maggie and Glenns soon to be child would inherit the virus unless something gets discovered. Recurring nightmare really.

Not really, since the knowledge of zombies is now present. So instead of burying people like we do now, they first put a crowbar through the recently deceased's head and then bury them. There, problem solved.
Of course the problem of zombies will remain, but it will be small and manageable. People will learn to be careful and always carry something with them to quickly dispatch of a zombie or two. Zombie hordes, like we see now, will cease to exist.

I find it funny that there are so many bad things about this show and this is what bugs you...
I would easily forgive the science of the zombies if they would just make this an interesting show but TBH I don't know how many more awfull episodes I can take.

I didn't fall asleep but I agree with your statement. That was one of the worst season premiere of a show I've ever seen.

It was certainly better than season 2's first episode. In any case, I enjoyed the return to their horror roots. Lots of gore + zombies and not as much drama. It's going to be hard to top season 3 overall, imo that was up there with Breaking Bad.

My only sadness is that the show had so much potential but does a lot of things wrong and continues to do them wrong. There's just poor writing. Little things too. For example, when D'angelo is pinned by the wine shelf - they could've made that entire scene so much more captivating and tense. They could've given him a few cuts and wounds from getting crushed, they could've had broken bottles and spilled liquor pooling around the floor and made his struggle against the crawling walker so much more dramatic. They could've had him desperately fending off the walker with his one free hand, trying not to get bitten, splashing around in the alcohol that's starting to cover him and get in his eyes and burn his wounds. He could've finished the walker off by peeling it's skull back like he did and, instead of being conveniently saved, he could've taken a broken bottle and jammed it into the exposed brain. I can't fathom how they let opportunities for more intensity get away from them. The writing just seems so blah.

I'm so glad somebody said this. I wouldn't go quite as far as you do, but I think season three was the best so far.
That creepy village, the prison setting etc. were all awesome and turning the kid into a total psychopath is rather cool. Also, that ninja negro with the two catanas is absolutely bad-ass. She's my favourite character, after crossbow redneck.
By the way, I think the latter is being hyped up just to kill him in some would-be Game of Thrones fashion, like Tyrion in book five. + Show Spoiler +Just trolling, no worries.

I hope Morgan makes a return this season. imo both of the only two eps he's appeared in have been the best in the series so far (yeah I know one of them is the first episode :p).

What makes you love a character is something bad-ass. The best way to introduce a new character is by ceasing people's attention with something cool, especially in a zombie apocalypse. What makes you HATE a character is most of the time drama, especially in a zombie apocalypse.

Weren't they? I'm really bummed out that he didn't join the group.
Poor guy, imagine that, failing to kill his wife so she kills the kid...
