Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book.

The actor is actually Irish. http://walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/Kerry_Condon I thought the same as hzflank too so I was surprised to see this. I found an interview with her anyway and she doesn't talk quite like that so I guess it's exaggerated somewhat. I wonder if TheExile19 still watches this, I always enjoyed his posts in this thread. I didn't necessarily agree with everything he said but they were generally well thought out and interesting.

I've heard good things about this season's first episode but TWD typically has no issues making a compelling opener to a new storyline, rather it's keeping the momentum throughout that proves difficult. might catch the rerun this weekend, the only other TV I'm watching is masters of sex and it's good, but a bit laidback for my tastes.

Little things too. For example, when D'angelo is pinned by the wine shelf - they could've made that entire scene so much more captivating and tense. They could've given him a few cuts and wounds from getting crushed, they could've had broken bottles and spilled liquor pooling around the floor and made his struggle against the crawling walker so much more dramatic. They could've had him desperately fending off the walker with his one free hand, trying not to get bitten, splashing around in the alcohol that's starting to cover him and get in his eyes and burn his wounds. He could've finished the walker off by peeling it's skull back like he did and, instead of being conveniently saved, he could've taken a broken bottle and jammed it into the exposed brain. I can't fathom how they let opportunities for more intensity get away from them. The writing just seems so blah. You sound like you want to watch Supernatural and more action-based series. TWD is drama and human interaction, not so much action sequence. I liked th episode and to be frank, the bashing really is dumb. If you don't enjoy it and seemingly don't enjoy it (to everyone) for like the last season and already the first episode of this season - how about not watching it? Maybe people want to discuss the show (people that like the show) and not have the thread flooded with one-liners of "LAL SO BAD LOL OMG ROFL SHIT BRO" thx.

Just because a show is a "drama" doesn't mean they have to have non-exciting/tense action scenes when it's called for. TWD is littered with garbage like this. They really half-ass a lot of it. It's no excuse. Anyway I found the episode pretty boring. I'm just not emotionally invested in any of the characters anymore. The season 3 finale was just such a major let down I don't expect anything good to come from this series anymore. I don't know if I'll keep watching it.

I am really starting to get sick of Rick moping about wandering from place to place with no story line or focus. Daryl is turning into a first class pussy and Hershel needs to die big time, his platitudes are driving me nuts The sooner they are on the move again, the better imho I guess I can understand why people hate this show, but for the wrong reasons. The characters aren't meant to be stable or rational or make intelligent decisions. These are people who are only remnants of their former selves. People need to get off the hate train and understand this isn't the best show on TV.

They don't eat because they have to, just because it's the only human thing that survived the turn, the need to eat.

Also the chactacters were more interesting in those episode. This current set of characters look boring and dull. It feels like i am watching Eastenders not the end of the world.

This has been the biggest issue i have had so far with the series, too much relationship drama with characters i really don't care about. Well one romantic relationship already got severed the hard way, let's hope for more misery to come. ![]() I'm calling it now, Tyreese's new girlfriend is going to be one of the victims of the swine flu.

So instead of burying people like we do now, they first put a crowbar through the recently deceased's head and then bury them. There, problem solved. Of course the problem of zombies will remain, but it will be small and manageable. People will learn to be careful and always carry something with them to quickly dispatch of a zombie or two. Zombie hordes, like we see now, will cease to exist. yeah there should be a dezombifying process when a person dies. probably a way to insta-gib a person when his heart stops say planting chips to the brain that when the heart stops it explodes, brains scattered = no zombies. but it would be a long way to go and not much technology from the outbreak. It is really hard when people during their sleep, heart attack, stroke, drug abuse etc where no one knows what happened, you open the hotel door boom a zombie comes to bite you and another outbreak.

The first 15 minutes were dedicated to a bunch of relatively minor stuff, intended (I guess) to set the mood and catch us up on what had been happening in the ~2 weeks we've missed, but it was confusing and uninteresting to me. A bunch of throwaway characters were introduced as plot devices and nothing more. There was some foreshadowing, and some character development, but it wasn't easy to identify as such, so I can understand why someone would lose interest early on. As the episode progressed, there were some high points, but mostly lows. The whole ordeal with Rick and the girl still feels out of place to me, like filler content. There was no surprise at the "twist" because she was creepy as hell to begin with, and then we get to see Rick with the troubled hands-on-head expression for the millionth time as if he really gives a shit about this woman. All of the scenes with the glasses kid and Carol felt really poorly acted. The supermarket scene was fine, except again, the two characters who died/were in trouble were just recently introduced to us, so it's hard to feel anything. I don't think it's a sign that the season is going to be bad, I just think there was way too much setup and not enough development or interesting moments to make it worthy of being a season premiere.
