Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book.

Every character serves a purpose and i think they're all interesting in their own right. Andrea is actually one of my favorites because of her past wish to not continue living and wanting to die in the cdc building, to now regaining the will to live and being a reliable member of the group. that and she's also probably the best shot on the show. maybe i relate to the show differently, maybe i have less of an emotional reaction to each character being "a psycho" or "a useless bitch". I judge people enough in real life lol. I just try to enjoy the show. I'm not affronted by the script or the effects or the acting either, and i'm normally picky about stuff like that. maybe i don't watch enough other tv.

For the people that have read the book/comic can you tell me if they will ever explain how the outbreak occurred? Whether it is this season or not, I just want to know if for once, a series will explain how it happened.

Can someone link me on amazon where i can buy the actual book or whatever so i can read the whole story? im confused on what to buy i want to start from the very begginning. Thanks guys There's no novel, only the comics. "Book" as used on this thread refers to the graphic novel made up of all the individual issues of the comic. edit: This big compendium has issues 1-48, which I believe is more than half of what has been published: http://www.amazon.com/Walking-Dead-Compendium-One/dp/1607060760 You'll have to buy or borrow the individual volumes for issues past 48, or wait until the second compendium is released.

Romero style zombies were always the most awesome because of what they represent (an undead ghoul without a 'soul' wandering around and trying to nom you up) and the atmosphere they create, not because they were more dangerous in a general sense. If a zombie is fast it might as well be any other monster "comin' to get ya'". That said, I still loved 28 days later (super rabies spreading super fast is pretty scary) and DotD remake, but the whole essence of a true zombie movie is a weak shambling corpse which overwhelms survivors in the end and causes the feeling of despair. i think the theme your looking to describe is that death is always coming, and you cant escape it.

This latest episode was GREAT. I don't know if it's one of the greatest, but it was really good (I guess it could hit top 10 at least, but I don't think that's saying much ). One would maybe think that due to the suckiness of the episode before it, that this one would seem better than it was just because of that, but I don't think that's really the case. This episode had so many of the good things that the other episode was totally lacking. On February 21 2012 09:36 DontGiveUp wrote: I disagree. Last episode hardly had any OMG scenes in my opinion. Lori crashing and the guys getting shot were both not too surprising for me, even though they weren't expected.there was no "OMG" scenes like we had before I can think of at least OMG moments in this episode: 1. When the victim's friends came 2. At the end, when Lori talks to Rick I could see some people not being interested or surprised at #2 (no offense, but maybe some of which are the less socially-adept), but I thought it was. On February 20 2012 14:26 p4NDemik wrote:All of those things add up to an episode I overall enjoyed, on a whole probably more than every other episode thus far this season, with "Nebraska" being second and everything else being pretty far behind. Really beginning to think kicking Darabont off the project was a shrewd move by AMC execs, but then I think they did a lot to create the mess that was the early parts of this season with the budget cuts and all. I don't see how you could like "Nebraska". I thought it was the worst episode of the whole series.

If the world ever got zombiefied I could see humanity winning out against the slow, lurching type. But if running zombies ever rise up, we're all pretty screwed.

I don't really care which exist, it's more about all sorts of other factors that make the movie/TV-series good; but Running zombies are obviously scarier. 28 Days later and 28 Weeks later (or even I am legend) were pretty good, and the fact that the zombies ran obviously made it much more scary (and both more and less realistic too; more in that it makes more sense for the infestation/epidemic to occur, less in that zombies couldn't run due to lack of metabolism)

Thing is, you're kinda right, how the fuck did all the main communications got shut down in Walking Dead, doesnt make any sense, it could happen to one state maybe, but the whole world (since they're talking about France being touched too in season 1, it's obviously global, so it must have been some kind of bacteria, volatile, that would infect people all over the world, disappear, and just let us with zombies around everywhere). How the fuck can armies get screwed by zombies, you put mask on them, give them M16 with 5 clips, how the fuck could a squad, or even a fucking tank, get caught? It's a shame that they didnt elaborate more I think, the whole things seem "well end of the world, deal with it", I mean, even the movie The Road (holyfucking awesome movie by the way), they dont tell you ANYTHING, but it is still really easy to get the possibilities, and the fact that it all seems possible. Slow zombies cant bring the world down, but the earth could fuck up things on its own. And zombies are fun, but why do people still think that it's a possibility? The only thing close to zombies would be a huge nuclear war, people starving / radiated that would kill eachother for food. And that wouldnt be so much fun I guess. But yeah, running zombies, I wouldnt even try I think ahah, but when you think of it, running zombies would be even more "fake", the fact that they can stand up and try to eat, mkay, but having good functional muscles and the ability to run mehh
