Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book. |

Haha that is like almost my exact opinion on all of the characters. Except I really hate shane, and don't quite like Hershel still.

Well guess no one can complain about lack of walkers for that last episode, had a zombie frigging biting a guys face off.

Except I really hate shane, and don't quite like Hershel still. most annoying (in order): carl (so obvious hes reading off lines and pretending to be mature, really have to cringe whenever he talks) lori (helpless/useless/annoying) glenn's girlfriend sophie's mom glenn when hes anywhere near his gf dale is usually ok, but lately hes been such a pussy.. going around spreading rumours and an exaggerated "astonished" look whenever someone does something unethical
the rest I don't mind, but notice I just listed half the characters in the show.. not a good sign

Great episode last night... there was no "OMG" scenes like we had before, but all the 45min felt good overall. Decent action, interesting character development with Lori telling Rick to deal with Shane.
I am still waiting for the awesome comic book version of most characters to appear someday, but if the show keeps going in the same rhythm like last night, I will be fine.

Yep, good episode. Really gorey when that zombie tried to get into the car and when the zombies ate that guy's face off. Finally some zombie action!

-10 for magically undrunk Herschel -10 for Carl's terrible acting +30 for zombie scraping its own face off
Gryffindor wins the house cup!

For what it's worth io9's and the two leaks it reported on, one has been correct and the second one could happen in at least two weeks.

After watching a few episodes of Season 2, I am now scared of zombies. I see them in my dreams (err, nightmares). I am paranoid about going home alone and being ambushed by zombies. Help anyone? D:

Help with what? You get to have awesome dreams and you are now more weary of being mugged. Win/Win. When I was 14 my psychology teacher told me that dreams are like a movie you get to see for free. Ever since then I have thoroughly enjoyed every dream I've had, no matter how scary.

I don't like nightmares but most dreams are cool. I've had zombie dreams though and I gotta say, the feeling you get smashing zombies' brains in is quite satisfying.

zombies are actually the least scary monster though, they're so frigging slow and stupid, you'd have to be an idiot to get caught by them. The running kind from 28 Days Later were a bit scarier.
Werewolves, now those are awesome beasts.

I find "The Thing" alien to be scarier then all such creatures. Only because it can turn into anyone and make it so you can't trust anyone. Always have to watch your back because you never know who is who they really say they are.

Damn I was so rooting for the zombies when Lori was caught in the car. And whenever he is on screen.
Ah well. Good chapter.

The aliens from "Alien" are the ultimate aliens. But zombies are awesome as well because even though they are moving so slow and even though they are so dumb they will eventually get you and the sheer amount of them that walking out in the open is SCARY. + to kill them you have to hit them in the head, well it's easy and fun in the movies but GLHF hitting a moving head IRL + the fact that there is no cure or anyone that can come and rescue you it's mentally wearing(and btw I loved the dialog between Shane and Lori this season about having the baby).

Even the ending... when the music hit as they were saying the words from that piece of shit they call a script, it was such a sham. For a show that MANY people in this thread argue as being something that explores more than running and gunning down zombies, it treated us the audience like dumbasses.. + Show Spoiler +When Lori is saying.. hes dangerous.. he says you can't protect us.. you would kill the living to protect us? Shane's dangerous and wants me.. etc.etc blah blah, stfu Lori. Are they so insecure about their writing that they literally have conversation fillers? And the fact that they have the need to beat us the viewers over the head with some of the ideas within their episodes. It's just.. I like the idea of the show soooooo freaking much. But it's getting so weak in writing, in production, (the CGI are pretty shit for the killing scenes), even the acting at some parts. And a side note. Fuck that old guy with that hat. He's so useless that I don't even remember his name after watching every single episode.

seems really slow.. like i've already complained about
if i knew how to write.. i'd do something like/
next ep; 200 zombies storm the farm and fighting and hiding ensues.. ep after that: they escape to nebraska where there is a secret fort of soldiers but one of them is infected and doesnt know it ep after that; infection spreads within the fort and they get split up and there are new cast members whereas a bunch of old ones died or went missing
like obviously i cant write for crap and i didnt think it through; but i mean... its exciting and still has room left for the "human conflict" questions to arise.
but just from reading my short fake episode descriptions, im already excited
I thought this episode was pretty good and I didn't mind Rick and Lori's last convo. Also, your episode ideas sound like an incompetent action film - I'm happier with the direction the show is going comparatively.

dude that's totally it lol, he ALWAYS has that fucking look on his face ahahaha.
It's basically like that face at the end of meme's when the guy in the picture is like "oh god..."/"dear god..." with his eyes all huge and face in shock
except he just walks around with that face all the time rofl
"shane is eeeviiiil. i think he killed otis, and will kill again... dear god.." "the zombie apocalype.. it's real.. dear god..." "everyone is slowly losing their morality, the world is bringing us all down with it... dear god..."

Werewolves, now those are awesome beasts. Zombies are scary to me because of the walking corpse aspect. It's an uncanny valley thing -- they look human, but they're not, and when you get close to one you get the unnerving feeling of something terrifying wearing human skin. The sheer grotesqueness of a rotten corpse somehow being forced to continue to move is deeply unsettling. Zombie movies don't really play up this aspect nearly enough. It's all scare and survival and no creeping dread. Though I do appreciate that the Walking Dead shies away from jump scares.
To me zombies are actually less scary when they're fast.
