Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book. |

bookwise, they are about 20 episodes in
tvwise, they are almost 2 full seasons in
im thinking to cover everything so far, it will probably be like 8-9 seasons

I honestly couldnt believe when Rick and hershel saved that kid. Like really, he was just shooting at you, and in an end-of-the-world scenario, you are going to waste more of your limited resources saving him? I would only waste a bullet in his head to put him out of his misery.
Shane may be a douche about how he executes his ideology, but I still appreciate his way of thinking more than Ricks
I don't like him for being a control freak but he does have a good mindset on how to survive (except just trying to sit in one base to keep alive. Resource will eventually run out anyway, better do more scouting and learn some pattern of the zombies and find out a good time to grab resources instead) But Rick, I really don't like him. If he wasn't the main character of this series, he would certainly be one of the characters that die first to show how cruel this world is

Yeah, they can also delay the comic's events too by making up new material. An example would be the episodes with the Mexican gangsters or the CDC building.

Shane would be much less of a douche if Lori wasn't tormenting him so much.

Shane's the one being irrational. The scene with Lori and Shane talking about the potential child looked like something straight from a couple before going on an episode of Springer or Maury (you are not the father!). As long as Rick is in the picture Lori has made up her mind and Shane isn't willing to accept that. + Show Spoiler + As for the "Outsider", I hope this is their subtle way of introducing the Governor crew, while unlikely it's still more likely than most of the other outs they could have used by now.

I thought the episode was very good. One of the best of Season 2.

Just finished episode 9. It's getting worse and worse..
Even the ending... when the music hit as they were saying the words from that piece of shit they call a script, it was such a sham. For a show that MANY people in this thread argue as being something that explores more than running and gunning down zombies, it treated us the audience like dumbasses..
+ Show Spoiler +When Lori is saying.. hes dangerous.. he says you can't protect us.. you would kill the living to protect us? Shane's dangerous and wants me.. etc.etc blah blah, stfu Lori.
Are they so insecure about their writing that they literally have conversation fillers? And the fact that they have the need to beat us the viewers over the head with some of the ideas within their episodes.
It's just.. I like the idea of the show soooooo freaking much. But it's getting so weak in writing, in production, (the CGI are pretty shit for the killing scenes), even the acting at some parts.
And a side note. Fuck that old guy with that hat. He's so useless that I don't even remember his name after watching every single episode.

This basically summarizes my thought on this series. The setting has so much potential to be one of the best series ever, but the execution and the pointless drama and the stupid characters (not necessarily the actors in themselves) are holding the series back from what it could potentially be.
( edit: why no end line on the quote? :/ )

Why didn't they just shoot the poor sap, put him out of his misery. Losing a leg in a Zombie Apocalypse is most likely a death sentence. While it was a good episode it still seems to be moving at a snails pace.
|
I think the show's been much better since the break over the holidays.
Start of season two was pretty dull and directionless, but the show feels like it's going somewhere again and the story is picking up past that of dreary monologues and conversations.
A few characters are starting to feel redundant though. It seems like they're getting ready to leave the farm with more and more zombos appearing.

I hate Lori with the passion of a thousand burning suns now. She's just a walking talking plot device for group conflict.
Especially the last scene this episode she displays a whole new level of stupidity.

Come on Shane!! KILL RICK!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
i think it's still entertaining... it's just moving frusratingly slow.
oh daryl is pissed off, cool we get it - do we really need 5 minutes of "grrrrr grrrrr grrrrrrrrr grrrrrrrrr go away grrrrr" ?
black guy still hasn't done anything...
dale hasn't done anything except whine about shane for the last 7 episodes or so...
andrea is being even dumber than lori, she seems to have a teenage girl crush shane and everything she does is cringe-worthy...
we still haven't been introduced to half of the characters from herschel's group...
at least in tv shows like lost they had excuses for dumb behaviour, because there were freakin weird ghosts, visions, hallucinations etc. there's simply no excuse for the walking dead to fail to deal with these loose ends.
|
I still like the series. Sometimes it's a bit slow, but the last couples ones had some great moments. E08 was the only episode where I rewinded a scene (barscene) :D
|
Tell kid to shut up so he doesn't attract walkers when they are swarmed by walkers at the same time as Glen screams there is walkers and shoots with his shotgun.
Saves the kid who just tried to kill them and instead of getting the hell out of there they risk their lifes by saving him. He will probably lose his leg when he said he didn't want too, so instead of just putting him out they make him a fucking criple in zombie apocalypse.
That was so bad. I liked the first part of the episode tho. I hope there will face more "gangers" because in a world like that there would be alot of them roaming around.

Still, without a leg he can shoot someone else in the legs and he can crawl away and live !

Sort of book spoilers? still entirely safe to read imo + Show Spoiler +Barn shooting happens in vol 11 of the comic, so 1.5 seasons = 11 volumes, which puts 1 season at about 7.5 volumes. With 1 season per year, and 94 volumes, it would take over 12 years

The TV series is getting better at least by each episode, hopefully they'll ditch the farm soon.

Ok, so i'm sick as fuck and thought today would be a good day to finally start walking dead, never seen this show before nor read the books. Have only watched the 1st episode of the 1st season thus far. And WTF! when he picks up the bike and the half dead/ half eaten chick rolls over......... I'm hooked. I like how it seems to be what a zombie apoc would be like trying to survive through. Opposed to just a horde of zombies that get beaten in the end.
