Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book.
Won't last long I assume as Shane tries to shoot Rick ion the comics but fails and dies, correct?
I don't know if we can assume anything about the content from the comic being in the show. The show is just based on the graphic novel series...
All I do know is that there's going to be a big confrontation between Rick and Shane next episode. Shane is losing it! He pointed a gun at Rick earlier in the season, and probably would've shot had Dale not been there. He's in love with Lori, Carl, and the idea of them being exclusively his.
I'm glad Lori finally made it clear to Rick that she thinks Shane a fucking loose cannon at the end of the episode. Rick's a badass, but he isn't clever the way Shane is. For instance, if Rick had gone to get the medical supplies with Otis, they might not of made it out of there. Also, keeping the hope alive that Sophia hadn't become some walker's dinner was super naive. :/
There is a new discussion rule I would like to see here:
If the spoiler tag is used, can people specify between the comic spoiler or just an episode spoiler? I want to see and join in discussion of the episode (which people frequently spoiler-out mid show), but I don't want to risk spoiling the future with comic comments.
I really appreciate everyone taking an uber-cautious approach to discussing, I'm just trying to avoid plot landmines amongst my perusing when fully caught up with the show!

Wouldn't necessarily be a new rule with the bold at the top stating:
Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book.
If it's about the comic books the spoiler should be labeled, if it's about what has already happened in the show it shouldn't be in spoilers. People just need to learn how to read the big red bold warning at the top.
Kinda redundant then as theoretically the only things put in spoilers should be Book spoilers as nothing from the show itself is supposed to be in spoilers.
But I'm glad the group is starting to realize the danger in the time bomb that Shane is. Totally different views on how to live in this world and they don't mix.
Judging by the way they look, Shane looks like he would kick ricks ass with one punch, rick seems scrawnyish. and shane seems like he would fuck some one up
Really excited for the next episode. I can only hope they stick to the comic storyline in the shane/rick resolution. It's such an important story defining moment for what the world has become.
I hope it's ok to mention the comic if I don't spoil anything ;o

All that matters is who has the faster gun hand, and I think who all know who has that attribute.
Just got done watching the encore as I missed the first showing. Thought the first 35 or 40 minutes carried on the excitement of the final scene of "Nebraska" really well. Lots of dilemmas, incredible sense of urgency, everything this show needs more of. The scene between Shane and Lori was pretty good, I thought they did a good job of presenting Shane as sort of losing it in a way, living life in his own little bubble of lies that is separated from reality. Good close up shot of him with Lori in the background with him just looking ... unhinged.
All of those things add up to an episode I overall enjoyed, on a whole probably more than every other episode thus far this season, with "Nebraska" being second and everything else being pretty far behind. Really beginning to think kicking Darabont off the project was a shrewd move by AMC execs, but then I think they did a lot to create the mess that was the early parts of this season with the budget cuts and all.
The last 15 minutes really struggled to really close the episode out strongly but everything else made up for that. The discussion between Glen and Maggie was actually fairly interesting.
Oh and the zombie shredding his own face trying to get through the broken windshield? Pretty fucking awesome. I really loved that after the first 30 minutes even though the second half of the show was at the farm, you still felt a bit on edge, not entirely safe, whether it be from the threat of walkers or from outsiders. I'd still like to see the group move on, but for now things look to be headed in the right direction.
The main worry I have lies with wondering how far they are going to stray from the lore of the governor. There was a lot of impact in him coming in as the first villian and truly hostile group, and if these guys they killed weren't with him then it will take away a bit from that. Even still he is so god damned diabolical I think they'd be stupid not to keep that storyline in tact.
...I don't think Shane is dying next episode. The zombies will break up the Rick/Shane fight and Rick will return to camp. Shane will show up later and duke it out before Carl shoots Shane.
The show is definitely improving. The feeling of safety is gone, there are threats everywhere. I was pretty pleased with the TvZ and TvT action this episode.
Shane is nuts and I think Carl is going to shoot him to protect Rick and/or Lori.
Also Shane's nervous tick or whatever running his hands over his stubbley scalp is reaching comical proportions. I think I'm gonna start taking a shot every time he does it while watching the show. That will surely make every episode enjoyable.
I don't really like how they are partraying lori in the comic she wasn't this stupid and what she said about Shane was not needed. Book spoiler + Show Spoiler +
What she said to Rick reminds me of after she dies though and Rick talks into the phone with her. Maybe that is what its leading to just her tone.
I've never read the books but if they planned to make the entire book series into the show, how many seasons would it take to cover it? Just looking for a guess, by the current speed of the show, how many seasons would it take to cover everything from the books.
does anyone like shane? i actually like him more than rick cus hes not a pussy who seems to be in survival mode more than rick. I honestly couldnt believe when Rick and hershel saved that kid. Like really, he was just shooting at you, and in an end-of-the-world scenario, you are going to waste more of your limited resources saving him? I would only waste a bullet in his head to put him out of his misery.
Shane may be a douche about how he executes his ideology, but I still appreciate his way of thinking more than Ricks
