I've heard there may be a new DIS release (split with Gnaw Their Tongues) this year and I'm really stoked. I just picked up the new Teitanblood release too, haven't listened yet but I figure it will be amazing.
2014 has been amazing so far actually so far I've loved the new albums from Behemoth, Artificial Brain, Thou, Indian, Calvaiire, Murmur, TrenchRot. At The Gates are putting out an album in November too which makes me nervous tbh I hope it's not a Metallicaesque letdown

Avalon! I think Timo Tolkki finally has his shit together musically, although he's still got a lot of personal problems when he posts on the Stratoforum.
But I'm glad they're finally coming to the States this August
I love all of these songs. Definitely both bands staying true to what they're getting known for. Very stylistic. However Whitechapel's vocals aren't as good on this album as their last couple, but still good.
Emmure hasn't been good since the Respect Issue, me and my friend almost went to see them for a laugh but it's depressing since Goodbye to the Gallows and The Respect Issue were so sick.
Excited to learn Despised Icon is reuniting though probably the only deathcore band I can see myself fucking with in 2014
emmure and whitechapel good? when was that ever the case? :S
Good post near the top of the page Doc, Dragged into Sunlight are fucking amazing, looking forward to their new stuff. Also looking forward to the new At The Gates but without too high hopes. But as long as they don't rehash their SotS sound like countless bands have in the past - what 19 years ? - it should probably be good. I got the new Behemoth and the new Animals As Leaders (wonky prog/tech stuff, the new one is arguably their best so I'm excited) and I'll listen to them shortly and post my trademark impressions here.
And to the guys at the end of the last page, Death Angel are pretty great, you should check out their '87 thrash classic The Ultra-Violence. Amazing album, that one.
Discovered this the other day, also a new release, will listen to the whole thing as soon as I can. I'm a fan of sludge and this kinda rules so... ^^
To each their own, personally I'm not a fan of overly-simplified chugging and ludicrous amounts of breakdowns. So brocore doesn't exactly appeal to me. :S
And this is why I don't visit this thread much. Lol..
To be fair, I love bands like Death Angel, Eluveitie, WBTBWB, Havok, Cannibal Corpse, Anthrax, Kreator, Despised Icon, Korpiklaani, Dying Fetus, whatever. I have a pretty broad love for various metal music. Take some time to listen to the songs I posted, and find the good. Appreciate what they're going for, and feel the heavy.

What's that supposed to mean? :S
Also, holy shit, Gorguts just shared this song on their Facebook, apparently by "a new band made by friends from the Montreal scene". What can I say, if you enjoy the suffocating atmospheric style of Immolation's Close To A World Below, Gorguts' Colored Sands or pretty much any Ulcerate record, you should enjoy this quite a bit.
If you like thrash metal or just like to hear what awesome thrash metal sounds like!
Just like in 80's? What do you think? Isn't this song just awesome?
Sounds like Slayer!
I was supposed to see them on the 29th in NYC with Children of Bodom but I have to travel for work =(((((((((((
Actually went to the same tour's show in Calgary specifically for Tyr, because FUCK YEAH Tyr.
Unfortunately Tyr played literally a 3 song set (...what the fuck) but I got a good taste of Death Angel that made it worth it... but I have an irrational cuntpunching hatred of Children of Bodom, so we peaced the fuck out near the beginning of their set.
Anyways, Tyr is godly and deserving of a listen. Observe, a cover of a Maiden song.
Also @mistakes I feel you man, and can vouch that at least half of the shit you listed is badass. I'll have to take a peek at the other half, chances are you're not wrong about them either
