Would also love some recommendations should I have missed anything, I went through artist by artist and listened to all they had and added only the songs that I liked which currently stands at 840 with plenty of variety.
Some of those aren't melodeath, no matter how you look. But well, here some of the bands you may enjoy. Didn't check for all of them, but your list contains mostly mainstream so I doubt I would find those way less known bands. ! marks exceptionally good stuff in my opinion.
Allegaeon - Fragments of Form and Function (!) Avatar - Avatar Be'lakor - Stone's Reach Blind Stare - Symphony of Delusions Blood Stain Child - Mozaiq Dark Flood - Still Liberty Daylight Dies - Dismantling Devotion (!) Eluveitie - Slania Enter Chaos - Aura Sense Eternal Tears of Sorrow - A Virgin and a Whore Eucharist - Mirrorworlds G∀LMET - Hellmet Gates of Ishtar - At Dusk and Forever (!) Gormathon - Lens of Guardian In Slumber - Scars: Incomplete Incarnia - Proclamation Lost Eden - Cycle Repeats Mercenary - 11 Dreams Mors Principium Est - The Unborn (!) Naildown - World Domination Parasite Inc. - Parasite Inc. Persefone - Shin-Ken Portal - Forthcoming Serpent - Cradle of Insanity Shade Empire - Intoxicate O.S. Shadow - Shadow Sorrow of Tranquility - Empire From Darkness The Duskfall - Source (!) This Ending - Dead Harvest Vörnagar - The Bleeding Holocaust (!, free) Wintersun - Wintersun XecsNoin - XecsplosioN
Enjoy
Some of the bands may be borderline, sure, but they're all melodic death or close enough. Just out of curiosity which would you consider not to be?
Some of the bands you list, is already in my playlist but I will look over the rest. Thanks a lot for such a long list.
Edit: I'm happy you mention Eluveitie - Slania which while I already have it it's the only good thing they made imo. The other albums just don't compare.
Well, Ensiferum surely isn't melodeath. Same for Heaven Shall Burn. And few other, but hey, genre labeling isn't so important. especially with few bands that are hard to categorize.
And np, enjoy - hope you'll like some of those. I can link you to the Vörnagar's cd if you want, it's been released for free, but the site is down for years now. And damn me if that isn't some fine stuff.
As for Eluveitie, well, I'm not a fan of their music, but Slania and their demos were decent.
I was quite happy to find out that Tuomas Saukkonen - the mastermind behind Before the Dawn, Dawn of Solace and Black Sun Aeon - released a new album with his new project "Wolfheart". What should I say, it's amazing!
That reminds me that I'm not sure if I'm happy to have his new project or sad because all other projects are now dead. I remember looking at this video before for first time, had no idea it's new band from Toumas. But while listening I surely felt that familiar vibe that is "hearable" in all his works.
What separates old Megadeth from new Megadeth is that Mustaine is really fucking pissed off. Like, "I got kicked out of Metallica and I'm really fucking angry about it" pissed off. It's what makes his vocals much more tolerable than what they are now.
I've been listening to a lot of doom metal recently. Doom metal of all types, Saint Vitus, Blood Ceremony, Pallbearer, Candlemass, My Dying Bride etc. Discovered Castle a couple months ago, great band with amazing atmosphere.

I've been having a bit of a Doom time as well, fits the autumn weather! If you haven't yet, you should check out Reverend Bizarre, they are basically as doom as you can get..
Warning: Might make you fall asleep if you listen to an entire album
This has been an insane year, especially for death metal and atmospheric post/black stuff....
Anyway I've been digging up osdm classics so I can finally make my osdm mix that I promised to do. Look forward to that. ^^ I might also do a 2013 in Metal retrospective list at the end of the year.
But until then, I urge you to check out Obliteration - Black Death Horizons. What a saucy release. *_*
Also Exivious' latest, for those who really enjoy tech/prog/jazz fusion instrumental wankery. ^^
EDIT: Also not sure if I've mentioned this yet, but Sacriphyx...
I have a few to add as I haven't been on this thread in quite awhile and have seen some shows since. I will post some from the most recent show I went to.
Thy Art Is Murder: They were the headliners and they're from Australia. They fucking wrecked the place. Also, especially 2:00-2:30ish + Show Spoiler +
Next is the runner up on the tour, and a local band from Seattle, WA. I Declare War: + Show Spoiler +
Now the final video I'm going to post is the local opener for the show in Seattle. More Seattle, WA representation! They are called IDOLS: + Show Spoiler +
I said I was only going to do the more recent show I went to, but I can't help it.
The show I went to before the one I mentioned above was a punk show, headlining was The Casualties. Second on the bill was Negative Approach. MDC was also there.
Considering how much amazing OSDM there is, and how much new OSDM (weird huh? more like awesome) there also is, I've put off making more substantial death metal mixes and instead bring you a 30-track round-up of 2013 metal, mostly death. No doubt it's still incomplete, and please don't be pesky that there's no Darkthrone or Summoning on there, there's only so much time in a day and I have an insane amount of music that I want to listen to. ^^;
Out with the old, in with the new. One of my certainly favourite finnish bands Stam1na delivers with their new single. After Nocebo which didn't really do it for me this certainly does, something like this I was hoping to hear after their debut album and I can't wait to hear the rest of the new album. Definitely worth checking out!
I just got into Tower of Fire, it's basically a band that parodies other bands and writes some hilarious lyrics. They call themselves "power chicken metal".
Sorry it's not on youtube, but I've obviously wondered how this band never got signed or really got big. Sounds like something mainstream listeners would've hopped on, and they even had 2 attractive girl members, which is like recipe for automatic success.
A good friend of mine who is a huge fan of punk and crossover thrash brought to my attention a largely overlooked 2013 album by a new band called Iron Reagan, which is apparently a side-project of members from crossover revival thrash band Municipal Waste and metalcore band Darkest Hour.
I have to say, even as a big detractor of revival thrash and new thrash in general, this is a solid, fun record, shifting between a very intense, Cryptic Slaughter-esque style of crossover and a more mid-paced, riffy style not unlike, say D.R.I. and manages to keep the excitement up throughout, I feel. The length keeps it accessible, although I wouldn't have minded a few more songs, or at least longer songs.
Either way, it's definitely a worthwhile listen for anyone who's into thrash, punk or crossover and certainly one of the better albums of that sort of the past 5 years.
Wow, really nice find OsaX! Hadn't heard of this before, apparently it has very good reviews across the board so I might just have to check it out. ^^ Really fun song.
I'm gonna contribute with a recent discovery of my own, an excellent slab of Swedish OSDM that never garnered much attention, as is the case with a lot of good music. This is the band's only release more or less, so do check it out if you like the Swedish approach to death metal or just death metal in general:
